The European Union is likely to miss its self-imposed target of expanding the infrastructure for electric cars to 3.5 million charging points by 2030. Currently, only around 910,000 charging points are accessible in all member states combined, less than a quarter of the EU Commission’s target.
Study on public EV charging in Europe
… recent EU rules require countries to install a certain number of chargers based on how many EVs they have and how far people drive. By mid-2025, most EU countries had already met or exceeded their targets, especially France, Germany, and the Netherlands. The number of chargers across Europe is expected to nearly triple by 2030.
No wonders given half assed support.
Of course. There’s no EU will to actually tackle real problems. Anyone who thought they were going to actually do anything about it are delusional at best.
They’re too busy regulating the names of vegan burgers .
