I swear I’ve never read, or seen, or otherwise perceived an ad for a book😐 This concept is so weird to me, I don’t think I’ve ever internalised the fact that there can, indeed, be ads for books.
I keep finding out about books the same way I used to: hearing/reading disjointed summaries, finding out the author was weird/nuts/literally a genius/all of the above and looking into their work, through bookworm friends who recommend literally everything they ever read and a couple of titles pop out. I don’t think I’m mentally prepared for book ads…
Edit: I mean, of course, books other than the Whatever About Whateverthefuck they used to peddle during the early AMs teleshopping broadcasts… I think we can all agree that teleshopping is a pocket dimension and not “real life,” as it were.
