I think it is exactly this way of viewing the world, that has brought us to this point.
We are the anomaly here. The concept of building a closed space that has areas where light enters, but which can’t be crossed, is something that has never been seen before in the whole history of the earth. Nor is it in any way normal, by the way, to have such a massive scale of light sources around during night time. The fact that flies and other insects can’t handle this is logical and has nothing to do with being stupid. It happened so damn fast, they just never had a chance to evolve.
After 150 years of treating nature and the planet as if we had 10 others lying around just waiting for us, we have finally started to see how our way of living is harming us and the creatures we share this world with. But instead of adopting or changing, we make funny jokes about how stupid they are.
This extremely human centric view will be our downfall. And the only thing i regret is how many other creatures we will take with us in the process.
I know, i know, funny joke, haha, etc.
Let me take this way too seriously for a moment.

It’s crazy that we call the fucker “housefly,” despite it predating the house by like 64.9 million years.
Getting a mix of a sparrow’s flight through King Edwin’s great hall at Gefrin with a hint of insect apocalypse
