This is the first time in my life that I’ve seen video game console prices go up. Might even be the first time in history.

I honestly dont know a person who has the newest xbox. Im sure they exist, but they are REALLY not doing well in my opinion.

Welp we shall see if xbox will continue to be hardware or just a brand in the near future.

If I ever cared to buy an Xbox it would be exclusively for the three following things:

      • To have it as a collection item
      • To use it for Microsoft Rewards
      • To use it as an alternative to PC when either my brother is playing on the main computer, or to put games that I don’t feel like stuffing on my PC’s storage.

And frankly, I don’t think any of those reasons are truly compelling. I’d rather have a Switch 2.

Except Nintendo is quite literally trying to stifle creativity in gaming with their latest patent nonsense.

You’re better off buying a Steam Deck and not giving your money to a company that is more of a patent troll farm than a games company, these days.

Nintendo has some exclusives I like, plus there’s the entire Switch library at my beck and call as well. I don’t plan on giving money to Nintendo directly: I’ll get the Switch 2 from an official reseller, and any game I get will be physical AND used. Plus I live on Brazil. If I get into any trouble with the console, I can contact PROCON (our consumer protection agency) who is so feared by corporations that whenever their name is mentioned on a support ticket they IMMEDIATELY capitulate. The way they immediately fold is bound to give someone whiplash. It’s one of the main things I like about living in Brazil. People have sued and WON lawsuits for wrongful bans in videogames before here.

I know three people with the newest two Xboxes. I can’t count the number of people I know with a PS5, though.

I hope they keep being hardware, but don’t really have a dog in the race since I moved over almost entirely to PC years ago.

I just want them to make good games. It feels like Sony invests in their exclusives while Microsoft tries to cut costs and maximize profits.

I know we’re hating on Xbox in this thread, but I have an XSX and I absolutely love it. I hardly buy any games outright thanks to Game Pass.

Yep, I got one a couple years back to compliment my PC. Many of the games you can buy for PC and Xbox at one price, with cloud saves so you can bounce from the workstation to the TV. I don’t buy many, but the few I picked up, it’s nice I can leave the PC after work and relax in the living room with a huge TV for some gaming. Sure, I also have a big 165hz monitor for my PC, but sometimes you get sick of sitting in front of a computer, especially if you work from home.

I know 1 person with an Xbox One X. For casual gamers who don’t want the hassle of a PC (he doesn’t have one at all) it’s a good option. If the rumours of M$ bringing Steam to the Xbox turn out to be true it’d make it a really good value proposition for people who just want an easy system that has, with the addition of Steam, a massive amount of content available.

Said person is in my Steam family sharing so assuming it did happen one day he’ll have up to 1,300 games available for no extra cost.

I like my Series S but I’m not using it to play new games. It’s either my existing library or I’ll buy cheap backwards compatible games but anything newish I don’t even consider buying on Xbox anymore.
