    Surgeons apparently have a reputation for being kind of stupid. Their main qualification is physical, since they have to have incredibly steady hands. I’d rather have a moron who won’t slip cutting into my brain than a genius who will.

    Aside from that, though, Engineer Syndrome is definitely a thing. I suspect it’s part of why programmers aren’t unionized basically anywhere.

      Can confirm. I worked for a surgery center during COVID, and remember at least one surgeon who must have failed germ theory class when it came to mask effectiveness 😅
