The Palestinian resistance group Hamas marked 700 days of Israel’s genocidal campaign in Gaza on Friday, calling it a “stain on humanity” and urging the international community to take decisive action against the ongoing atrocities.

In a statement, Hamas highlighted its efforts to reach a ceasefire and a prisoner exchange agreement, stressing that it had “shown significant flexibility” in negotiations.

The movement blamed the repeated failure of mediators on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and called him “a war criminal committed to undermining diplomatic initiatives, pursuing indefinite plans of extermination and displacement, and placing the lives of captives at risk to serve his government’s agenda.”

Hamas renewed its call to the international community, including Arab and Islamic countries, the UN, and its organs, particularly the UN Security Council, to “fulfill their responsibilities toward the Palestinian people and intervene to halt the crimes of the fascist occupation government.”

The movement emphasized the need for “punitive measures against Israel,” warning that “mere condemnations are insufficient” and that, without substantial consequences, Israel would “continue its crimes without regard for international protests or positions.”

Hamas also praised global grassroots solidarity with the Palestinian people and welcomed the launch of the Global Sumud Flotilla, an initiative to break the blockade on Gaza.

Is it surprising that this source, which is likely financed by Qatar’s government, might be pro-Hamas? It’s a popular POV there

You are mistaken as to when the Palestinian war started in their eyes. The war started in when they/their families were forced from their homes with only what they could carry so that Jewish people could have Israel. It never stopped because from their POV Israel never stopped murdering them and stealing their land.

If you understand the above you should be able to grasp why they see Hamas as a resistance force. We now look at the French resistance to the German occupation as “the good guys” in that conflict. Had Germany won WWII we might look at the French resistance as “the bad guys”.

Your perspective on who is and isn’t right in this conflict isn’t as black and white as you are making it out to be.

Islamic militias have repeatedly removed/genocided Jewish people from that same disputed land for centuries. Arguably the land was stolen prior to and subsequently returned to Israeli people after WWII. What the people of Israel are doing to Palestinians now is egregious and tragic, but there has been a prolonged effort to rid the Middle East of other Religions/ethnicities by the majority Muslim population of the Middle East — Hamas is and has been founded on principles that support that effort. Otherwise they would have agreed to and abided by the treatises and two-state solutions proposals of the past.

Hamas is not a resistance force, they oppress and use the Palestinian people as it suits them in their pursuit of conquest. The people of Palestine suffer both at Hamas’s hands and the hands of Israel’s excessive and careless attempts at wiping out Hamas.

I encourage you to read about Hamas, even Wikipedia will do, and educate yourself about how they formed, who they split off from, and what their founding and current principles are.

I’m aware that the situation isn’t black and white, it’s certainly grey, and I have more than identified exactly how it is grey. I think once you educate yourself a bit more you will understand. Have a good one.

Just because they haven’t ever been able to doesn’t mean they don’t WANT to. ;)

The most prominent example I can think of prior to the October 7th attack would have been the 1972 terrorist attack at the Munich Olympics:

              https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Munich_massacre

But the continual “you committed an atrocity so we’re going to do another” back and forth back and forth for 6,000 years is only going to ensure everyone there gets killed unless someone forces it to stop.

The group who did it was not an islamic militia and example of act of vengence which is still a crime is not a proof of genocide

Oh so they definetly want to exterminate jews, but you can’t confirm it because they don’t have the capability yet, but as soon as they have the capability, you will have proof?

                That’s witch trial logic.

Is that “massacre” really the best argument you’ve got? They took hostages, trying to get a political decision made and the hostages were killed in a failed rescue attempt.

But sure, sure, we don’t negotiate with terrorists that kill or endanger civillians. That would be a fine principle, if we didn’t exclude Israel, who objectively have killed more civillians than any Palestinian resistance group.

For the sake of humanity, find empathy for brown people and educate yourself on what actually happened, instead of western/Israeli propaganda repeating the dehumanization of muslims.

It takes a shit ton of lying to defend a genocide, so don’t get discouraged when it takes time and effort to unlearn the propagande, but if we let this “slide” the world will not forget, and neither will those of us who saw through the shit.

Name one single instance of ‘Islamic militias’ genociding Jews in Palesine.

Names targeted killing of Israelis outside o Palestine

I didn’t say back and forth. I said name one.

The only party continually massacaring Jews were Europeans. There wasn’t a genocide of Palestinian Jews in the Caliphate. In fact the Jews living in Palestine before colonialism detested their violent colonialist counterparts.

“Just because they haven’r been ABLE to doesn’t mean they don’t WANT to.”

The genocidal language thrown by both sides has been going on for thousands of years.

The thing is, you can’t engage in a genocide unless you’re in a position of power first and if you’re continually disenfranchised, you literally cannot engage in genocide.

The will is there, the ability is not.

No it hasn’t. Name a single instance of Jews being genocided in those “thousands of years” which wasn’t when the area was under European control.
