Am in Europe, bought AC. That can also pump heat in.

    Also outdoor blinds.

    And a well insulated place.

Weather is going to be crazy very soon, and it wil not get better after.

Heat pumps are pretty efficient both in cost and impact as far as these things go. If your local grid is remotely green you’ve got nothing to feel guilty over imo

I’ve lived my whole life in the US Southeast and even im looking at maps of France and Germany saying “oh fuck that”. Yall stay safe.

Yeah, it’s crazy how little energy it takes to conserve the indoor temperature on a neat level.

Though that might be because those blinds work like magic, I’ve always wanted them, and now I can’t imagine life without them.

Passive cooling as much as possible is really the key, get as much of that rolling as possible. Blinds, shade trees, good insulation and windows. Easily some of the most cost effective ways to prolong your hvac and keep power costs low while not sweating to death

Ceiling fans are great too but im sure you’ve already got those everywhere you can

Don’t worry! There’s a non-zero chance the AMOC collapses and you’ll finally have a latitude appropriate climate. Hope you like snow (while it’s still possible to fall at that latitude)
