Flight crew should be paid the moment they cross security. At that point they’ve badged in and they should be considered to be at work.

If planes can’t take off without this essential work, then the people doing it need to be compensated for it.
Otherwise the plane can stay on the fucking ground.
They do pre boarding outside the plane. They can’t even load the plane if no one does that.
