Yeap, this seems to fit.
Way too many good crosspost material lately.
for reviewing gaming handhelds.
No. That’s not why. Click-bait headline.
Some of these devices ship with pre-loaded ROMs, which appears to be the source of the complaint.
Yes I read it. Its fucking bleak, jail for buying something with a ROM on it. Pathetic actions.
then shouldn’t the people making/selling those handhelds be prosecuted?
It depends on the laws in the country where they’re produced and who are importing them to the dystopian country of Italy.
Most likely it is legal/greyzone where it was produced and was purchased online or sent per agreement as review/sponsored consoles so it’s easy to argue the YouTuber have imported illegal goods…
Also no? The protection of a multi national company should not be going this far.
As an anti-capitalist I think the protection of any company should be global but also that their rights to protection should be practically non-existent.
Even someone who was a big fan of capitalism should see that seeking jail time for the crime of copying a product that is likely not even sold anymore as a defense of potential profit is wildly wrong.
Sure, and that’s the sort of protection I think should be practically non-existent.
