I never ever want to hear another conservative whine at me about the budget as long as I live. FiScAl ReSpOnSiBiLiTy my ass.

TBH, I’m increasingly convinced that this is yet another in a series of moves overtly intended to destroy the federal government’s legitimacy.

Was it Susan Colin’s or Murkowski that was saying she voted in favor of the bill knowing it was terrible only because she thought the house would fix it? She knew full well the house wouldn’t do shit but approve it. These people are monsters.

Sure, maybe, probably, but even if that is 100% true, I don’t think it’s the whole story. I think that the interests of the Russian Federation and the interests of our ultra-wealthy sort of accidentally aligned insofar as they both believe they’d be better off with the US federal government deligitimized and destroyed. Whether it works out the way they’d hoped, well, we’ll see. History is kind of a funny thing.

They might think so, but they’re really not. Billionaires here were much less likely to fall out of windows. We were much more based on laws than a series of buddy systems.

It was better to have a billion dollars than ten billion rubles. We’re working to change that.

People fall out of windows all the time, even if they have billions. Clearly, not all of them are aligned.

They don’t all have to be; the majority of them are aligned, because those that fall out of alignment…

Here’s a pretty wild idea that just occurred to me. Let’s assume that Trump being a Russian asset is far from being the big picture, but a tiny part of it. What if some people have planned something much bigger, and the Trump administration is just one step along the way.

Maybe the goal is to make people rise up against a tyrannical dictator, and tare down the whole administration. Then, something new could rise from the ashes, and that’s when you have a unique opportunity to design the whole system to your liking. Consider it a hard reset, where you purge every cache and memory. Well, who would design the new constitution and a new government at that point? Even if it’s the people who do that, their opinions can be easily swayed, distorted and guided by social media. What if some people are just waiting for each piece to fall in its place.

Well, I have zero evidence for any of this, so consider it nothing more than food for thought. You could also use that as a prompt for a scifi book if you want.

Why would you not assume they are all Putin assets? They are all for sale to the highest bidder, and have been so for quite some time. It wasn’t Trump who went to Moscow on that 4th of July some years ago, but some of his fellow assets.

There’s no way they need a budget that big for just dealing with illegal immigrants. They must be planning on going after other groups too.

LGBT? Democrats? People of Colour? Scientists? Anyone who disagrees with Trump?

We know where this is headed. I’m waiting for the Americans to figure it out before it’s too late.

It is going to be his private SS, only beholden to Trump. He can use it exactly in any way he wants. Besides the disappearings going to massively increase, they will be an armed military force that he can let loose on protestors and anybody considered to be dissidents.

Trump’s ‘Big, Beautiful Bill’ to give ICE a larger budget than most of the world’s militaries

In all, the version of the bill that passed the Senate earlier this week would see the agency receive around $100billion by 2029, $45billion for detention facilities, the same for border wall operations and a further $14billion to fund mass deportations.

This would put ICE’s budget above that of Israel, Italy, Brazil and the Netherlands.

I have no idea who this source is, but it’s an interesting headline. https://www.lbc.co.uk/usa/politics/ice-budget-big-beautiful-bill-donald-trump/

It was perfectly safe for them to vote against it knowing it would pass anyway. They get to appear on the right side of things without actually making any sacrifices or hard decisions. If it would have been 50/50, I guarantee we would have seen at least one defection.
