Unfortunately the US is just… very right wing. Even the democrats are right of center on most things. This is just a conservative country. The democrats are about as left as you get in this country with any mainstream support, no matter how much we wish it weren’t so.

And I know man, I hate it, and I’m not going to lecture anyone that votes their conscious. If you don’t want to vote for democrats, and Biden specifically, I can’t blame you. It bewilders me that the most we can get from him over a goddamn genocide is “that’s a little much, Jack.” If you can’t vote for that I get it.

Just don’t fall into the trap of thinking that the US is more left leaning than it is. We might win on issue-to-issue polls, but when it comes down to it we’re a selfish nation that has bought into the temporarily embarrassed millionaire meme. And I don’t think that’s just the pessimism talking. We have generations worth of work ahead of us.

Also the worst possible time to run candidates that are so milquetoast and establishment, yet here we are. Yet only one group gets punished for making the wrong decision. Then again the system is designed so that only the little guy ever experiences any real pain.

I agree with the gist of your post. I would add, though, that your tabletop store is a store. There is an expectation that you spend money, whether its explicit or just implied by the fact that its their space and you’re taking it up. I think we need spaces where people can exist without the expectation of commerce.

Come on man, use some critical thinking and context here. He clearly is not saying that cars some kind of an issue here. He was making an idle point about traffic jams in the US with hurricane evacuations and how that doesn’t apply in this situation. He’s not even making a value judgement on anything here.

Don’t know. As long as it is open source, I’m not sure it would matter. Eventually one would win out with the community.

It would have to be a defined standard. I imagine it not so much as a script that runs, but rather a description of fields and weights. I guess there might be some computation involved, but I think a standard could be devised that there would minimize the security risk.

Which would make it important that the default would be something with no tweaks, like a chronological list. But I would be all for a scripting setup or some other configurable sorting engine to play with on a per-account basis. Maybe you could even subscribe to other’s sorting configuration.
