  • So, the rectum (poops last stop before freedom) is actually deep inside your pelvis as your colon makes the turn from the left side to the center, so your massage isn’t moving the poop out like squeezing a toothpaste tube. However, it lies close to some internal muscles like the iliacus which can put pressure on it if they’re stiff or inflamed (not unheard of in western society), and massaging them can get them to relax and relieve the pressure.

You’re certainly not hurting anything with this, and since you’ve been doing it for so long, you may have developed a psychosomatic connection that might actually help your bowels do their work. It’s weird, but go right ahead massaging the shit out of yourself because it might help in some way.

  • I feel like, at least in America – and it might be just my part of America – we feel like our hobbies have to make us look better. I can’t just take photos, they have to be really good photos and I should look into selling them. You can’t just like to make cakes, you have to make amazing cakes and do it for friends’ parties. There’s not enough emphasis on just do something you like because it makes you happy. This doesn’t have to be a competition. It doesn’t matter if your shit is abysmal as long as you enjoy doing it. Have fun!

  • I’m an athlete and a biomechanics student who studies this sort of thing. Technically, if you do the physics, yes, pavement is harder than dirt. Will your body actually notice that difference given the forces that you experience from an easy run in modern shoes? Not likely. For a few hours a day, day in and day out over decades, then yes you will. But if you run a few miles once or twice a week, no, you probably won’t see a huge difference. (And most trails frequented by runners are packed dirt that is not much softer than pavement. Getting onto shift and squishy loam tails isn’t feasible for everyone.)

  • Same exact story. The whole first 2 hours I’m constantly having my kids Google Google how to lock the car, how do we adjust the mirrors, how do we turn it on, how do we change the radio station, how do we turn on the air, etc etc etc. On the third day my daughter is just trying to open the door and she yells “why is this car so fucking annoying?!”

It’s obvious it was designed by a child trying to look cool to the other kids.

  • Not really helpful here, but I have only ever used Mac’s and have never used an iPhone and I have 0 problems. If you have a Mac or an iPad, you should be able to access everything that’s Apple that use you use on your phone. I can easily put items in my Google calendar from my Mac or my Pixel. I can access files on my Google drive on all devices just the same. The Apple weather widget is less accurate than the Google One which is less accurate than just about every 3rd party app. I use Firefox which syncs between all devices. Pretty much everyone I know has an iPhone and not a single person complains about my green texts. I read the other comments about group chats, and I’m in those too and no one complains. Either my friends don’t use any of these features, or it’s gotten better. I felt that Android phones just work more easily than iOS (which is weird because I feel that Mac’s work more easily than Windows, and this is kind of the same argument). You are going to run into a lot of issues, but maybe they really won’t be all that bad in the long run. You probably won’t get your texts to port over, but you can start new threads and in a couple of months you might not notice. Hopefully it goes well!
