I like this approach of having a model locally and running it locally. I’ve been using the firefox website translator and its great. Handy and it doesn’t send my data to google. That I know of, ha.

I’m intrigued by a tag based rather than subcommunity based system. I have a personal wiki system I use that is tag based, and its great since most notes fit in multiple categories. Different from a social board though.

Re images. A giant image, or an animated gif in the middle of a text discussion can be disruptive. The same with things like fancy user sigs that are 10x the size of the comment they posted. Do you have thoughts on how to limit this kind of distraction?

I’m using a lemmy app on my phone. When I click the above links I get a ‘format error’. If I put the addresses into search I just get this post and a few similar posts, not any peertube content.

So why not disable images, including thumbnails? Wouldn’t that solve it? Imgur was created because reddit didn’t host images.
