I agree, it’s a trade off. That’s why reducing car usage is the most important thing. Making it less convenient to use a car, and more pleasant to walk and cycle are some of the ways you can do that.

Funny how the cars in the UK are geared differently than the ones in the rest of Europe, who seem to have no problem driving at ~20mph

Whataboutism, the west contributes significantly more per capita than China. Yes they should be doing more but it’s better focused elsewhere

Most people get their opinions from the people around them, and the media they consume. If the media talked about them in a better light, it would change people’s opinions on them. People also hate the idea of being mildly inconvenienced, especially since most of the progress we’ve had from technology has been about improving convenience.
