Anyone have context for the purpose or use of these costumes? They seem very intricate and some are more nightmare material (at least to me)

Oh true, didn’t think about collecting rainwater. I’ve always wanted to set up a system for that but just haven’t had the time to explore or the space to set it up but maybe this’ll be a project to bring back. I do think ensuring no complete dryout would be the hardest part. I’d love to set up a bog garden for temperate carnivorous plants and just have them cohabitate with sphagnum.

Do you have any issues with stagnant water under the plants since there’s no drainage per se? Or does the substrate/moss wick everything up pretty quick?

That’s a cool idea to sorta reclaim space that would otherwise be rather sterile (minus algae and mosquitos). Makes me think how i can try and set up similar things on my, soon to have, rooftop terrace. I don’t think I could set up a sphagnum bog given the heat/sun and my lack of a mass RODI system to keep things moist out here but I’ve been looking into natives that may work well in containers outdoors.

There’s a really fun fusion and play element to her recipes and if you like Szechuan food, you’ll get a lot of those flavor profiles.

I interpreted the article to mean that the developers are suing the crowd funding platform. It appears that the platform hasn’t given the majority of the money that was crowd sourced to the developers.

Assuming this is cantonese style steamed fish, its a soy sauce based sauce for extra flavor. The way I usually do it is to pour some soy sauce over the fish, layer fresh aromatics (green onion, garlic, ginger, cilantro) on the fish then heat up some oil to smoking and pour over the aromatics to release the fat soluble flavors and lightly toast some of the fresh aromatics

I think amino may be referring to the history of BMI, which is how most folks judge weight/mass, and has a long history of racist origins. There’s loads of research on it now and Aubrey Gordon’s book ”You Just Need to Lose Weight” and 19 Other Myths About Fat People summarizes some of the research very well.
