  • Nothing I am saying is even close to the term Newspeak. Newspeak is controlled language, simplified grammar, and limited vocabulary designed to limit a persons ability for critical thinking.

But I’m not limiting your ability to think critically, I’m trying to expand it. Yet, not only are you failing to think more critically here, you’re actively avoiding it by tossing out accusations and making jokes. Likely because you’ve already decided that you’re “right” (whatever the fuck THAT is in this context, since we agree) and that you’re going to fight whatever you’re perceiving as an…attack?

In short - yes, it would informally be a declaration of war - because they don’t call it that now. I’m just pointing out the second half is all.

  • Thankfully an actual grocery store is not too much further, but no - it would be nearly impossible to purchase enough food for a house of 5 on a bicycle. Having a car is a necessity.

The closest grocery store is, unfortunately both the most convenient, and the most expensive. If I were to travel 20-25 minutes by car, I could get to a cheaper grocery store. And I’m not in a particularly ‘rural’ area - there are places much worse than this. I even have symmetrical gigabit fiber, but barely a store nearby (unless you count a bar).

If I got any closer to the city, I wouldn’t have been able to afford a house.

Unfortunately it seems I’m somewhat of an enigma. I’m fairly left leaning, but live in the middle of people who are hard-right. I tend to have experiences which reflect rural life, and end up arguing with people who have never left the city. And it’s pretty clear why our founding fathers set up the nation the way they did; because it’s clear as fucking day that people in the cities have no clue what it’s like outside of them, and the reverse is true as well - many rural people not only don’t know about city life, but actively despise it (myself included).

I love not having a lot of people around me. I don’t have to deal with drug dealers, homeless people, and all the shit-stains littered around the city. I drive to work, and that little bit of time between work and home is the only solace I get to myself. I enjoy my car and not having to share it. If I could purchase a single-seat micro car, I’d jump alllll over that shit. Much unlike the folk I live around, who all drive 100k+ jacked up trucks.

  • No idea why you’re so combative. We’re largely on the same page here. I’m describing the nuances of the situation, not arguing with you. It’s not war in a technical sense. There are reasons why it’s not considered war, and nobody really wants it to be defined as a “war” either. But is it war? Well, yeah…kinda. Just not in the general sense of the word, and without all of the baggage that comes along with it being a formal “war”.

It’s like asking is the sky blue.

    Unintelligent people say: Yes.

Intelligent people might say: Yes, well - most of the time. Occasionally it can be oranges, reds, etc depending on the angle of incidence of light, cloud cover, etc. And the blue color is more due to Reyleigh Scattering of the incoming full spectrum light rather than the actual sky itself being blue; technically it’s clear.

  • change a person’s sexual orientation or gender identity through counseling.

I mean, has anyone ever thought that this could also be used in the reverse way?

I know everyone is like “yaaaay they’re doing something good!” - but every time I see this, I think to myself that someone – somewhere – is going to sue a doctor or therapist over allowing some kid to transition. Because technically, hormones are a ‘therapy’, to help ‘convert’ someone to the other gender.

  • But I’m not seeing them hurt! Neither are you! You’re seeing news reports and things that are spun to make you feel bad. You aren’t over there right now witnessing it with your very eyes.

I bet you’ve never even witnessed real combat death or even so much as a violent car collision.

So again - stop, fucking, putting, words, into, my, mouth.

I find no enjoyment in hurting other people - which is why it doesn’t bother me; Because I’m not doing it!

    Is not the same as

I don’t enjoy hurting people but also don’t care when I see them hurt

It’s simply not. You’re adding the seeing part to the equation. Learn to read. Learn to understand.

I don’t fucking watch TV. I don’t ingest tiktok, or facebook, or fox, or cnn, or msnbc, or instagram, or much social media at all. I don’t see it. I don’t care about it. It doesn’t show in my feeds. It doesn’t affect my life.

And you know what? The same goes for you. There’s a million atrocities going on in the world right now; you’re ignorant to 99.9999% of them. And you don’t want to know about them. Because you’d be so overloaded your head would spin.

The difference between me and you, is that I know that I don’t know about them, and I prefer it that way. I don’t need to fight for every single cause that passes in front of me.
