Unfortunately decades of far right am talk radio pipeline adapted very well to gel with online platforms. Then they were able to cleverly take advantage of algorithms to "red pill " people. Younger generations are generally more liberal than their parents but far Right strategies have made a big dent in that.
Plenty of boomers who actually marched for civil rights out there, and plenty of young people stanning turning point usa and mourning charlie Kirk

Overall I enjoyed this one too. A fun little romp and did not expect to do the hangover in space. As always I really enjoy the mid century modernist futuristic stylings that the set and costume design bring to the show.
I do like the silliness that this show can find itself in because it allows itself to be grounded in the era of TOS.

To be fair the alphas were still under the effects of the atmosphere so while it would make sense for them to defer duties to beta shift they werent in a headspace to do so. And definitely not delta shift those guys suuuuck.

Surprised by all the negativity in this thread. I enjoyed the ride and liked how it didnt pull punches. Was a bit of a push in a new direction for spok and lian

Enjoyable episode overall. I loved the conflict they had with an alien species. I dont mind these kinds of predetermined time travel episodes but I do think they wound up responsible for a little too much. Theyre responsible for the destruction of a planet, the contiunuing redding of mars, and also they killed the dinosaurs. It feels like the consequences were a little too high. A reminder of how nutrek dials everything up to 11. It’s not just butterfly effects changing history it’s like everything.

I dont hate that pike let it happen, but also letting someone genocide an entire people and blow up a planet is a heavy move to make so casually even if it did already happen. I would have preferred the usual cliche of them trying to do the right thing and then missing the mark only to realize this was meant to happen.
17 gallons is a big gas tank. This is neither here nor there but I hate that Ive seen like 4 gas hikes in my lifetime and every time americans panic and freak out and then move towards hybrids and smaller cars and act like the sky is falling and then it goes down again and cars get even bigger than they were before the hike and then EVERYONE IS SUPER SHOCKED when gas prices go up again

Honestly, the two shows have such different formulas in how the action is handled that I don’t really see it working very well.
Like obviously, there are writers talented enough to make anything work really, but I think the two shows do have tones that would make an episode like this just be pure fan service.
I think it would work best as like either its own self-contained little mini-series, maybe one where the doctor finds himself in the Star Trek universe and winds up traveling and interacting with multiple eras. Or a one shot special that exists outside either shows season

While he was technically the second performer of the puppet the character was totally different and mostly a background character before him. So hes the original elmo as we know him

Same just gunna get it through the high seas and not give them money. A shame this is where star trek fell

Im not into dolls as a hobby but this is super cool seeing how you get the hair in and such
Jokes aside babies do start balding a bit after birth before growing the hair back again

The flatpak should still work. Though I agree it’s a problem.

What a broad and needlessly harmful thing to get them to get off their butts and attempt to legislate. Its so frustrating how comically evil these guys are.

Its not specifically hard but its also not just as easy to use. I say this as someone whos been gaming on linux for over a decade now. You still run into issues here and there with proton(often a devs fault for bad code) and there is genuinely a lot more going on and tweakable on the steamdeck.
Steamdeck is a great device but Nintendo is good at making simple systems

In many ways it was better. More organic and even the big names like google and amazon were more quirky upstarts rather than the evil megacorporations they are today.
That said lets not sugarcoat it too much. The early 2000s were edgelord central and message boards like 4chan and something awful were quite influential. Then you had gaming message boards like gamefaqs and the like. Woof so much bad trolling. Some of it funny and well done to the point of art but most just abrasive and annoying. The small message boards and communities were amazing though.

I mean, it’s not wrong. I expect quite a lot of lewd and rude content as well.
Don’t have a lot of faith in Skydance’s ability to produce a good Star Trek moving forwards.
I wouldn’t expect them to do a terrible amount of micromanaging on this show, but I could definitely see them hiring showrunners and creatives that are meant to appeal to a conservative demographic.
