I bought a used old gen Sonos Connect about a year ago to integrate my Logitech Z906 into an existing pair of Sonos speakers. They made it deliberately tedious to downgrade those speakers (who had gotten the S2 “blessing”) back to S1 to make them work with the Sonos Connect. I’m an IT repair shop guy and I cursed all the way through this downgrade process.

I would have gladly bought current hardware from them again if their prices were anywhere within the realm of plausibility. Credit where it’s due, that Sonos Connect hookup with the 2 wall-mounted 1st party speakers works absolutely reliably. That company just seriously lost its bearings since they engineered those parts.

Guess the share of sane people among the totality was gravely misjudged.

which makes a lot more sense to me than a hard limit. driving displays as far as graphics processors are concerned is just a matter of data bandwidth. so the more pixels you want to drive the fewer monitors you will be able to run

There are definitely docks that have 3 display outputs, which would be a viable option if you also buy the Wacom Link Plus. I personally don’t know of any docks that have 2 display outputs and a USB-C port that is display-capable. There may be Thunderbolt ones but Steam Deck doesn’t do Thunderbolt unfortunately.

So yea I guess your only option is a different dock plus Wacom Link Plus. I don’t see any other personally.

So the setup is currently two external monitors? Or does that include the Deck monitor? Is the USB connection to the Wacom just for pen input or does it transfer image as well? If USB-C is used as the monitor port it most definitely will not work with USB-A of any kind. Not even USB-A 3.1. You either need a different dock with a USB-C port or you need the Wacom Link Plus (which means you probably also need a different dock with at least 2 HDMI ports or one HDMI and one DisplayPort).

If that handoff from internal audio hardware to the AUX jack is done in firmware (which is pretty common these days) you’re probably SoL. Seems like a first generation oversight. There is no reason why the internal mic couldn’t be used. The isolation from the game audio is even better than when the internal speakers are playing the sound.

The fediverse is such an interesting new human experiment (and I’m just saying this to you specifically since I don’t expect this comment to make it past the moderators either). I was going in expecting reddit except not morally bankrupt, yet what you find are numerous bubbles that their respective communities use to shield themselves from whatever it is that they (for whatever arguably rationalizable reason) cannot accept to penetrate the safe space.

I truly feel for the emotions OP experiences and has outlined. I was just trying to level with them from an outside perspective and it is truly sad that there seems to be absolutely no platform left on the internet (if there ever was one) where one can be guaranteed to find community that puts the commune and the upkeep of its unity before any agenda or collective emotional guidance.

I share your optimism but not because I put my faith in the guys (not) pushing the button. Some draw the analogy that you never know what a cornered Pitbull is gonna do but I don’t see that being applicable. His recent job reassignments show that he does not feel safe in his position as de-facto dictator anymore. He is much more worried for his domestic survival right now than anything going down on the international stage. He can’t nuke his own mutineers thus he needs to keep everyone in rotation so their levels of influence don’t get out of hand.

I can’t tell you what endgame there is left for Vladolf Putler. The only way onward is to keep the war going, which probably will require a full transition to a wartime economy sooner than later, but he probably doesn’t want that toll on the Russian people. Nuclear weapons would mean the opposite of keeping the war of attrition going and he knows that.

Which makes it all the more sad that 4% is the current peak of Linux Desktop usage. Now with Proton we could all be living so much better digital lives. I recently set up Nobara and it’s an absolute marvel. I was never a Fedora guy, but I think I’ll come around to this out-of-the-box fully gaming-capable experience.

Must be why he’s not on the ballot and imprisoned instead.
