If my original crush is sending off slight hints, then this new one is broadcasting interest on the full spectrum of wavelengths. Talking way more to me than to others, joke-angrily complaining that I can’t remember their name, clearly pointing out my social clumsiness but ultimately tolerating it, generally trusting me with important things even though they barely know me, helping me with stuff (perhaps trying to “fix” me?), and just generally being really enthusiastic about me in particular.

What confuses me is that they’re already in a relationship. Maybe that’s what lets them free to be enthusiastic about other people, since they’re already secure in that and not afraid of sending any unclear signals for that reason. Maybe it’s fraying from being long-distance. They wouldn’t surprise me at all if they were poly.

I definitely like them, but this crush is not as strong.

This entire thing is just making me suspect my desperation is causing me to latch on to anyone attractive who is slightly nice to me.
