Honestly battle royal seems like it should be hard to make a gameplay mode for Xontix

The fact that apps can be deployed at different paces definitely is a real double edged sword. On one hand it prevent an app who prioritizes a fix low on the list from slowing down other apps on the same system, meaning everything should be able to update ASAP. It also means that the slower updating ones have less community/business pressure telling them to get fixed.

I want to like, because well I want to have an OS that just works on my work computer, but at least my experience has been less then optimal.

The Nintendo emulator scene is pretty mature tbh though the “Dolphin on Steam” was killed because Valve didn’t want the heat from Nintendo.

Some of the cooler stuff is seen in the steam deck with stuff like global fsr (as compared to game built-in support) and gamescope to let you mess with resolutions for games that might not normally support those resolution changes.

Or games with massive kernel level spyware! It’s wild where some of the gaming space is at right now.

Lutris is the best when the community is there for sure. Blizzard games are the same way, it’ll work awesome forever and then update that breaks the lutris script comes out and ruins it until some awesome community member comes out with the patch.
