Wrong community? Or this is such an obscure meme that I just don’t understand
And what field is this? Or what professions do you think so well here?
mostly the same. I feel like even niche places get some of the annoying reddit mentality that has annoyed me for quite a while. There’s still the hivemind and circle jerky stuff in small places. It’s felt like less of that here, but also only a fraction of the people are on Lemmy so that will change when more people come.
How about today? It doesn’t feel very special
But what if I want to brag about my computer components or car mods that I’ve done?? Where do I put that so people can see it on every post?!
That’s saved reddit?
This is a good idea to try out. I’ll try it thanks!
I have about 30 communities I’m subscribed to and 90% of it is the memes and shitpost communities. So 2 communities are basically all I see. They’re probably the most active but it’s still extremely disproportionate. I’m like you I want to unsubscribe but it doesn’t seem like the right way. Maybe I’ll do it to test if smaller communities content comes through.
I guess I should add that I’ve done hot, top for the day, 12 hr, new, active, etc. I have a handful of communities I’ve never seen on my feed. I have to go to them manually.
Just a bean stress test for Lemmy. Looks like the fediverse can handle the beans.
I think when all things are stabilized jerboa will be my favorite. But I’m using Liftoff now as well.
I can’t tell if this was posted on the wrong thread or a really deep metaphor I don’t yet understand.
I don’t think reddit will ever actually die. I’ll probably still even check it for information I need if it’s a community that didn’t move since I have a few eSports I follow and people post tournament threads on Reddit and no where else. But hoping that people move over still. Unfortunately it’s a sub that’s been re-opened and lots of users aren’t even “redditors”. A lot are on Reddit for the specific topic :/
This doesn’t really help but I think yes. I think I saw it scrolling Lemmy a few days ago but I can’t remember anything else.
My problem right now is that even sorting by Hot on ‘all’ of Lemmy.world, almost all of the posts are a day old. It feels off and it’s been the same posts for the last 8 hours or so. Is this because of beehaw doing their thing or what?
This is how I understand it: a current limitation (feature?) Is that you can only search from your instance to other communities if someone from your instance has interacted with it. But if you use https://browse.feddit.de/ you can search across all instances. Then subscribe to it, or search the whole url in your own instances search. Once an instance interacts with another, now other people from your instance can search for it by simple name.
Yeah, which was “we are not changing it” lol.
Maybe I’m the odd one out but I can’t take any “take” seriously when people can’t just use names. I’ve seen “Elaine” and now “Elmo” and “Muskrat”.
