Insanely underrated game and one of the best co-op titles of the PS2 generation

SSX Tricky, and any of the NBA or NFL Street games, they’re all gas, no brakes. If you can get someone else to play two player (don’t know how well that works on steam deck emulation), check out Cookies & Cream. It’s one of the more clever two player co-op puzzle games, and it’s one of the first games my wife and I played together when we were first dating.

So many comments for best, I feel like we need some more tip-ins for worst (mainly because you all stole my best choices, dang it).

One of the absolute worst has to be the weird John Tesh style piano-only intro to ALF. I have no idea how this show stayed on the air as long as it did, though I was absolutely part of the problem by watching it all the time.

Honorary mention to pretty much every ABC family sitcom sitcom from the late 80’s/early 90’s having the same awful formulaic intro with a saxophone and every character facing the camera with their hands on their hips.

My 1 seed for the PS2 is Cookies and Cream. It’s a split screen co-op game for 2 players where each side will have obstacles that only the other side can solve. Very fun and very addictive, but it also has a solid control scheme that is easy to pick up.

My wife and I played it a lot when we were first dating and she loved it even though she rarely, if ever, plays video games. Still have the original copy and I’ll never part with it 😊

Lunch breaks are required by law, but they are not required to pay you when you take them. So when you work an 8 hour day, you are actually working an 8.5 hour day (8:30 - 17:00) with your .5 hour break at some point in the middle. The joke is basically the guy asking to work 8 hours straight and leave at 16:30 instead of 17:00 and management tossing him out a window.

Not OP, but the Lodge seasoning guide is a pretty good starting point. Cast iron being used forever is proof of how resilient it can be, there’s not too many things you can do that are irreparable.

Also, you don’t really need to baby it as much as most people say. Just keep using it and it’ll keep getting better.

Think of it on a scale of 1-10. High floor means it’s not a stinker, so worst ranking would be in the 4/10 - 5.5/10 range. Low ceiling means it’s not going to be an all-timer, so the best ranking would be in the 6/10 - 7.5/10 range. Basically you’ll never HATE it, but you’re also never going to LOVE it.

Dean Koontz is kind of like the RC Cola of horror/suspense novelists:

As a side note, I LOVED Dean Koontz books back in the 80’s/90’s. They were fun and quick reads that are in the “high floor, low ceiling” realm of books.
