If we lived in any sort of reasonable or responsible world then these cars would be banned from public roads all over the globe.
Facebook is just socially accepted malware.
Say it with me now:

Seeing as you don’t live here in BC and apparently didn’t read the article, I don’t think you understand just how bad this heat dome event was.
BC is on Canada’s pacific coast and its largest urban centre is within a coastal temperate rainforest. Our usual summer temperatures range from 25-32c ish, sometimes a bit higher. During the heat dome of 2021, it was 40-45c+ within the city. The town of Lytton, northeast of Vancouver, blew past temperature records with a recorded temp of 50c. For a brief period of time, a little town in Canada had one of the highest temperatures on Earth before it was essentially destroyed by forest fires that consumed much of the province and blanketed everyone else with smoke.
Over 600 people died during this heat event with more being attributed to it each year as investigations conclude.
Looking forward to the headlines: “Tesla Robotaxi passengers need medical attention after Robotaxi hits speed bump at 70mph”
Tesla’s self-driving is pretty shite but they seem to have a particular problem with railway crossings, as also pointed out in the article. Of all of the obstacles for the self-driving system to fail to detect, the several thousand tons of moving steel is probably one of the worst outcomes.
To secure “relief” ie: To return to the previous trade agreement that Trump himself signed off on.
To desire nothing but a return what-once-was is incredibly shortsighted. This isn’t about getting relief from tariffs is that those tariffs should never have happened in the first place. The US violated our trade agreement and, to this day, still changes its mind on what it wants almost daily. They have also made continuous threats towards our sovereignty with threats of invasion and war as well as flagrant disrespect towards our elected leader(s) and citizens.
The Canada-US relationship is over. It’s done. Trying to make more deals with them is a foolish waste of time at best and a threat to our national security at worst.
Pick one. You can’t have both.
Yup. If you’ve ever lived in or near a tourist destination then you can probably understand why these people are upset.
People are getting ousted from their homes (usually gradually but sometimes abruptly too) in favour of people that don’t even live there. It may be as small as a tourist trap displacing a local neighbourhood or as big as short-term rentals and a tourism economy pushing out the lower classes in an entire city.
Please no. One of the parts of Reddit I really hate is the amount of useless bots that clog up the comments.
When you’re new to driving and not totally comfortable with it yet - most of your brainpower will be focused on controlling and handling the vehicle and taking your attention away from that to check signage is terrifying.
This goes away with practice and experience. Eventually controlling the car will become muscle memory and you can devote your brainpower to broader observation of your surroundings and signage. Start with calm back roads, quiet residential streets, and gentle intersections. Preferably an area with a mix of things like stop signs, uncontrolled intersections, hill stops, school/play zones, crosswalks, and so on.
It can be kinda fun too as you can explore neighbourhoods you’ve never been to before.
You couldn’t pay me to put the Walmart app on my phone, AI or not.
Firstly: Designing an appealing sports/luxury car is expensive and many companies hire skilled professionals from known design firms to help accomplish this. The design often comes first and much of the car is constructed to fit the aesthetic and theme. Cheaper vehicles are more utilitarian with a more “that’ll do” attitude instead of being designed with artistic intention.
Secondly: Almost ever car maker has their own luxury brand or subsidiary. Selling cheap luxury/sports cars would undermine their own brand’s prestige and market segregation. There is a reason why dedicated luxury brands will not make budget-friendly vehicles unless legally forced to.
LGR is a classic. He’s a great, honest guy and runs a good channel with good content. Financed by views and memberships/Patrons; I don’t think he does any sponsorship deals at all.
He’s an old-school kind of Youtuber that sticks to what he does and doesn’t overreach or grow too fast like so many channels do.
No, that would be the people that vote for them every single election.
Well, a lot of Canadians wanted to export more of our resources overseas.
Carney is effectively a moderate conservative, which is what a lot of Canadians have wanted for a long time. I’ve said it for years - the first party to field a moderate conservative that isn’t a total lunatic will sweep elections.
And I hope the fact that it was the LPC to do so rips the CPC to pieces. I’d love to see that party split again. Their stubborn backing of a mini-Trump cost them one of the most historical election leads in Canadian history.
Luring people into doubting elections and democratic processes is a staple practice of fascist politics.
It’s a win/win move for them. It casts doubt on democratic institutions and processes which weakens them and it, if successful, also may gain them a couple seats.
The public needs to start pushing back against behaviour like this. This was not even a super close election; there are very clear seat count differences between the incumbent and opposition parties.
That fine is so small that it’s not even a slap on the wrist. It’s not even a rounding error. It’s like a grain of sand at the bottom of the ocean. It probably cost more in worker time just to issue the fine.
