To jump on the bandwagon, OP’s showing their age. I can’t remember where I first saw Badger Badger, but it was definitely pre-Youtube (or at least mainstream Youtube) when Flash was all the rage
Particularly for physical injuries, I sometimes prefer to suffer as it reminds me that I need to be careful, which I know I’d forget if I subdued the pain.
Having said that, for things like flu’s where it’s just pure suffering for nothing, I’ll suck down as many painkillers as I can have in a day.
The idea of copyright itself isn’t a bad thing IMO - reward creatives by allowing them exclusivity over their works for an amount of time sufficient to recoup costs and make some profit.
Problem is monopolistic mega-corporations screwed it all up in the name of profits by extending copyright decades past its original intention, and by copyrighting not just the works but even the means of accessing any of them.
It’s no secret that the reuse of public domain inspirations was how many of the largest entertainment companies and largest publishers got to where they are, so of course they pulled the ladder to ensure it’d be a whole lot harder to follow them.
Copyright is broken, and you only need follow the money to see who broke it.
I thought Earth was Neapolitan style, but it was Chicago deep dish the whole time! If only I’d have known earlier!
As others have said, our reference of time comes from our own universe’s rules.
Ergo if rendering 1 second of our time took 10 years of their time, we wouldn’t measure 10 years, we’d measure 1 second, so we’d have no way of knowing.
It’s worth remembering that simulation theory is, at least for now, unfalsifiable. By it’s nature there’s always a counterargument to any evidence againat it, therefore it always remains a non-zero possibility, just like how most religions operate.
At the time I got my current system, I did 1tb SSD for the main, and a 4tb HDD for data drive.
For my next system, I think I’ll split that a bit more evenly, as most of my games end up on the HDD which means they a bit to load
Alright, fine. You can have 20 miles or so, but nothing more. Oh and all the islands around it are still our’s.
That was my first thought too. It was only when the pseudoscience started that I realised I was meant to side with Starbucks girl here, and not the soldier helping out sewer man
There are so many questions. How did the soldier know there was a sewer man? How did the soldier know the sewer man wanted coffee? How did he know that coffee was cold enough for the sewer man to drink?
I’m less surprised by the GOP’s willingness to sink humanity for the sake of short-term profits than I am that Trump takes 45 minutes to wash that mop he calls his hair
As someone with ASD, I can’t say I’ve seen that much difference in the time it takes NT/ND people to get over a fight.
While I have seen some consistency across the sexes, in that guys seem to hold onto arguments for less time on average, even that varies quite a lot.
Whelp if science is a religion, at least our pastors aren’t covering up for child-molestation.
But seriously though, even when not being grifters, it’s like as though conservatives just never developed a theory of mind - they can’t process the idea of people who don’t possess some kind of dogmatic faith.
Some people prefer to follow where the evidence leads, rather than what the pastor says.
If it can be justified by hatred or billionaire interests, it’ll absolutely be on there. Because if there’s one thing Republicans hate more than anything, it’s people that are different (or think differently) to them leading happy lives.
So HR left us with just two choices, assured us they were the best of the best, and of course it’s two geriatrics.
… one of whom is a rehire that tried to lynch us when we laid him off the first time. Good job HR, you wonder why people hate you.
Not that I would ever suggest it, but I bet the moment a president even attempted to abuse this official power against these six conservative traitors to democracy, they’d desperately try to walk this decision back - they only care for the potential of abuse when it negatively affects them
I agree on them being safe - when rules are properly adhered to, they’re extremely safe, similarly to air travel. People only suspect their safety because when they do fail, they tend to fail spectacularly, again similar to air travel.
Having said that, they may be efficient to operate, but they are by no means efficient to build. They cost a lot of resources, and have a 10 year lead time - plus you need to worry about the cost of waste storage and decommissioning.
So sure, nuclear is better than fossil fuels, but you’re just kicking the nonrenewable can down the road.
That time and resources would be far better spent on renewables, because that where humanity is gonna have to go long-term no matter how well any other alternatives work.
With how much time these “macho” conservatives spend thinking about gay people, even when marrying their own wives, it sure does seem like they’re hiding something
Possibly Newgrounds, I used to lurk around there a lot when I was younger
