I don’t even have time for all the great indies.
Like seriously, that’s a real problem. I had to remove Deltarune from my wishlist. DELTARUNE.

I find it so annoying how Claude always goes out of the way to compliment me on my question. It rubs me the wrong way whenever I see it.

I think the ads on TV can be an important cultural touchstone.

Change to Mullvad or Adguard DNS. It’s not perfect, but doesn’t require manifest V2 so it works well even on edge.
That said it’s even harder to fix issues caused by DNS-level adblocking than an extension so consider at your own risk.

This is obviously an exaggerated example for dramatic effect.
That’s where Valve comes in. They’re the threat Playstation is most worried about right now.

I’ll upgrade when Windows 12 comes out … is what I would say but I’ve already switched to Linux.

The problem with ads isn’t so much the time, it’s all the BS they do to try and grab your attention. I’d rather a minute of peace and quiet than 30 seconds of my computer shouting at me.
That said on that front it’s not like the entire YouTube platform is any better.

Fair. There’s no universe in which those three companies should be foisted on passive investors at this stages.

Correction, because nobody else wanted to maintain it.
And this has started to become an anti-AI culture war thing, with many of the bugs attributed angrily to AI being bugs that have existed in the code for years.
Perhaps we can develop wind turbines that look like those old dutch windmills, without losing too much cost performance?
Nope, no matter how I think about it that’s not happening. Maybe we can make them look like pinwheels though?

What’s the alternative? The basically unusable Mojeek? Rawdogging Bing? SearXNG?

At the very least, I’d be far more approving if they didn’t make me pay for a separate 300 AI searches I’d never use. If it was just “600 searches, of any type” or even just “300 searches, of any type” that would be far more acceptable.

I just installed Bitwarden because 979 2FA started refusing to show my codes unless I set up a password and fingerprint (and fails when I try anyway). Now to find something else I guess.
Generally the type doesn’t matter. The age of exposure does, but the type doesn’t.
As for weed, whataboutism isn’t helpful.

I can second this. It seems to me pretty clearly that these policies are being passed based on genuine concern for the children. They’re poorly designed but they come from a good place.

They could’ve just bloody made social media safe for everyone, instead of making us jump through all these hoops.
Of course with porn it’s a bit more complicated, being exposed to it at too young of an age has proven negative effects.
Being exposed to porn at a young age has also been found to have damaging effects on younger minds. So really the uncle is in the right depending on the nephew’s age.
It’s not worth trusting AI with your life over a doctor. If in doubt, go to the emergency ward (assuming you’re not American, if you’re American then you’re fucked either way).
