this can be true but i also think it’s just the shitty incentive structures of the apps. like people one might be open to in-person get written off for superficial preference boxes not being checked b/c the format encourages treating people like products/disposably. the apps just suck i’m glad i’ve learned to use them more passively and to not take things as personally as i used to.

idk if im being paranoid/insecure but i really do think my relative lack of matches on hinge vs tinder has to do with it forcing me to list my height. maybe it’s just the smaller number of overall users though. but idk, the gender ratio is supposedly less acute on hinge and my profile i think is if anything better (shown it to a number of friends who all gave it a thumbs up). i also feel like the market for sensitive relationship-oriented soft boys on there is larger.
ah well. i did low key fall in love with a beautiful soul (who is also a total smokeshow) off of hinge, so maybe it’s just a quality over quantity thing. and it’s not like my higher match volume on tinder has translated into anything more than a graveyard of fizzled out matches.

Depressing family drama about decay/mortality vibes, maybe playing the inherent finite nature of our selves and bodies and larger social decay off of one another. it can be socially interesting for sure, i’ve only formally gone on dates with three people since my divorce and the two i didn’t low key fall in love with who were obviously not right for me were still like…interesting character studies i guess lol. but idk i also get that from friendships/work friendships/passing acquaintances. it doesn’t outweigh the unpleasantness of the swipe grind, scheduling the things, etc., at least not for me.
