Youd like to think thats true, it probably is. This post is from like 4-5 years ago (evidence is the “wear a mask” in the NYC account’s title). I’d guess that Mamdani has put that barbaric pratice behind the city, and that they would be moving forward on more low income housing and accessible shelters in the city.

News@lemmy.world•Fatal shooting of one-year-old boy ignites tensions in Mississippi town
24·2 months agoLong awaiting all my “Pro-Life” brothers and sisters to decry police violence, especially when it comes to dead kids… And yet it seems the only dead “kids” they care about are stuck in the womb; once youre out, youre on your own bucko.
Already addressed this before your post and under you. Do some more reading before just throwing shit around.
Sorry I shouldve probably said “we’d have less to complain about”. I dont support us getting involved in another war in the middle east, I support that idea EVEN LESS when we start a war in the ME without using the proper channels. And I cant disagree with you there, we constantly get involved in shit around the world that we shouldnt be, and that nobody has asked us to, in the interest of “spreading democracy”.
Thinking people are opposed to Trump invading Iran, or opposed to Trump in general because he’s “mean” is misguided at best. If Trump had gone through the correct channels, and gotten congressional approval for the “strategic combat operations” weve been involved in, nobody would have anything to complain about (other than the obvious “no new wars” and higher gas prices, but thats a different topic entirely). Trump acts as though he has absolute power in the seat of the executive, and has unfortunately surrounded himself with loyal cronies that wont tell him no. I dont give a fuck that he’s mean (it isnt even that he is, he honestly acts like a 1st grade playground bully), but I do give a fuck about him following the law, being held accountable when he doesn’t, and that he follows correct etiquette when making decisions that will effect the entire country.

10·7 months agoEver stop to think that if the media, opposing party, regular citizens, and even voters in the same party, are all calling these actions facist that maybe…JUST MAYBE… Its because it reeks of facist ideology and anyone that has studied history during the 1930s+40s know what it looks and sounds like? If everyone is screaming the same fucking thing, MAYBE ITS TIME TO LISTEN INSTEAD OF BURYING YOUR HEAD IN THE SAND.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What's the oldest video game you still find yourself playing?
2·9 months agoTheres still a hell of a lot of RP servers up, darkRP and otherwise. Still prophunt, TTT, zombie survival, all the classics with some new niche gamemodes added in. Its had a solid like 17-18,000 concurrent players on steam even just this month I believe.

News@lemmy.world•Sharp rise in Americans applying for refugee status in Canada, data shows
131·1 year agoAnd what would you have us all do? To be honest (as a straight, white dude in America with no real minority status) im pissed as all hell. Ive watched what was initially a kinda shitty country turn to straight far right Authoritarian in a heartbeat, and I dont want any of this shit. But aside from a large scale revolution, which includes burning it all down and starting over from scratch, what the hell do we do. Our votes all count the same, so we can go out and vote but we wont always have numbers. Realistically all I feel empowered to do is bitch on social media UNTIL something big pops off, and then go participate in it.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Who's the most ridiculed POTUS of history?
251·1 year agoMost ridiculed in history? Trump. Any scandal or even conspiracy about other presidents honestly pale in comparison to just 1 single Trump day. Its to the point where we dont even call them scandals anymore, its just another day with Trump in office.

Technology@lemmy.world•RFK Jr. Wants Every American to Be Sporting a Wearable Within Four YearsEnglish
11·1 year agoMandating Americans use ‘wearables’ for health reasons thats coming from the same party that, when asked to wear a mask during a worldwide pandemic for the public health decried government overreach, claiming it was like living in nazi germany, and even discredited Fauci over his very true claims of wearing masks helping to save lives. I truly cant wait to see what that side has to say about Junior here, gotta keep that same energy right??

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What was the scariest nightmare you remember having?
1·1 year agoHad a recurring nightmare over the course of about 3 nights as a kid in middle school. Dreams would pick up where the last one left off, and it was a zombie/mutant humanoid apocalypse scenario happening at my house. We defended the house well for two days straight, didnt lose a single survivor. Then on the third day we became overrun, lost everybody, and i was “bitten”. The dream ended with me watching an absolute flood of bodies breaking through my kitchen wall, attacked the remaining survivors, and me screaming “IVE BEEN BITTEN!!”.
Looking back and thinking about it, its pretty freaky lol.

Games@lemmy.world•"You can't just have Geralt for every single game" says his voice actor, and if you think The Witcher 4 making Ciri the protagonist is "woke," then "read the damn books"English
5·1 year agoI dont think its necessarily to complicate things but more that we’ve had Geralt as a main character for 3 games. His time is ending, and if you love him as a main character there are those 3 aforementioned games you can play to get what youre looking for. Switching up the main protagonist to another character that we as gamers have learned to love and accept through the series is probably the best move, both for business and canonically.

politics @lemmy.world•"This is a mistake": House Democrats fume at David Hogg's plan to oust lawmakers
10·1 year agoIm gonna agree and disagree at the same time. Money and party ideology are absolutely problems within our political systems, BUT age is also a huuuge problem. Its in my opinion if we had a majority of the dem party under 50 we would have seen such a better fight against this fascist bullshit. Hell even a republican party thats led by a significantly younger majority may have even helped to prevent this as well.

Fuck me I shouldve just described it as “despicable” and gotten on with my day 😂
