Have you not put just a slight amount of acidity into your mac and cheese? It’s not enough to give it a primary flavor or anything, but it cuts through the richness and gives it a touch of contrast.

This is gonna be a deeeeeeep cut but this reminds me of the Game Grrl from ladyada way back in the day.
My gym would start with a trainer having the latest generation Pokemon, then each one after would have ones from the previous generation.
Once you’ve gone through all generations and get to me, my team would be one high level Pokemon spamming its strongest move, and any time it got to red health I’d swap to a level 10 Pokemon that only knew HMs while I full restored my high level one.
This is how it was for me. No societal expectation to care about things anymore. Don’t wanna go somewhere? Say you don’t feel like it or that you’re tired and boom, done. Nobody looks twice at you, which I suppose could feel devastating for some. For me it felt liberating.

I remember waking up after a lifetime-long dream, seeing my partner asleep beside me, and hugged her so hard she woke up and got mad at me. Didn’t care, in my mind I hadn’t seen her in decades.
I’ve had dreams that took place over years. An entire alternate lifetime in one of them. Always very disorienting to wake up from one of those.
