Yeah but the main benefit is everyone else wearing them to prevent the spread in the first place.
I wish wearing masks on public transport remained normalised
Third day of rush hour public transport. I just know im about to come down with the lurgy
The state of the UK and world politics with an emboldened right wing trying to undo years of progress with their misguided bigotry of all forms. Im genuinely scared that reform might get into power one day.
Not much we could do but we made sure to acknowledge it at least.
It was my first friend anniversary with mine today!
I don’t mind flowers but for the kind of price and gift that it is I would prefer something like a nice candle or a diffuser.
Its really fun, love it.
We still use it in our stuff, I guess its easier for the corporate world to hire DBAs with official qualifications and have the option of oracle support when something goes tits up.
I was looking after my sister’s pupper whilst she was on holiday and decided to make her a simple collar so I could practice making the buckle portion. I think it came out ok and my sister was happy with it as a little present. A few days later I sliced my thumb open on a new strap cutter so I’ve had to down tools for a bit…
I played trumpet as a child but desparately craved to learn something else as my musical tastes didn’t really match it - its hard to be interested in playing an instrument when you don’t really like the music you are learning.
Later in life I bought an emotional support bass but I never really found the time or motivation to learn anything more complex than the famous riff from The Chain.
I never really had a single true BFF until last year. She unfortunately lives half way up the country now so its not easy for us to meet up too often (maybe that is better for the sake of the society) but she has become such an important part of my life I can’t really imagine it without her now.
Not personally but my old manager certainly did. I really wish I had reported to HR but I was still new, early in my career and the company wasn’t very corporate - HR was just a lady who was an early hire without any real credentials.
He (my manager) would regularly hand CVs around the team to see if they were a good fit skill wise but would also search for (and print off!) any facebook photos he could find that showed skin. He almost exclusively looked for and hired women. He later got sacked for bullying and generally being very inappropriate.
I’d be up for it, I need to get reading more than just romantasy smut again…
Depends on the phone. I hated the one on my oneplus 3 so i needed nova but the one on my current phone has the basic customisation options i was using nova for.
I don’t think I knew any, not until uni when 3 of us shared a flat and one was a lesbian and then meet more on nights out with her and her friends etc.
In later life I know that at least two people from my school came out as gay and one as trans. And a friend at uni came out as trans years after.
My parents were never homophobic or transphobic overtly, my dad would make some comments that echoed popular humour at the time of making fun of stereotypes. My mother worked for an org that dealt with discrimination claims so she always had a better handle on things.
I do think i grew up with a certain level of homophobia and transphobia, not helped by shows like Little Britain… It was just in the culture but I like to think I’ve shed basically all of it bar some unwelcome somewhat intrusive dissonant thoughts these days.

As a present for looking after the dog the other week my sister got me a watermelon and kiwi gin (one of the limited ones that whitley neill sometimes do) and its soooo good. I think I replied back to her later that day saying how good it was and got a response “that was quick”… like, its a friday afternoon, what did you expect?
Its more often rhinoviruses rather than coronaviruses or other families
