  • As I understand it it’s the anti-cheat that is the problem. If this is the only problem there is essentially only two possible ways to get Fortnite running in Linux:

    1. Get Epic to support Linux
    2. Crack the anti-cheat.

Since a major part of anti-cheat systems is preventing people circumventing it I would say that the easiest path would be getting epic to support Linux. One valid argument would be to play Fortnite on Steamdeck .

  • It’s a well known fact that every second major release of Windows is crap.

    • Windows 95 was not the best.
    • Windows 95OSR2 was the one you wanted.
    • Windows 98 sucked.
    • Windows 98 2nd ed. worked as the former should have.
    • Windows 2000 was great but had no support for running games.
    • XP solved that and made people leave Windows 98 (I deliberately left out the clusterf… Windows ME.).
    • Windows Vista sucked balls.
    • Windows 7 was what Vista should have been.
    • Windows 8? Metro on phones, yes! On desktop? No no no.
    • Windows 10 got Microsoft back on track again.

I thought the new upgrade scheme (2 editions per year) Microsoft introduced with Windows 10 would be like “every second release will suck” but it started to look like Microsoft were able to break the curse…

    …and then Windows 11 happened.

  • The statement you think is supporting your belief is actually saying the opposite. WHO specifically does not claim that aspartame cause cancer.

However, what they did state is there was no reason to change the recommended acceptable daily intake level of 40 mg per kg of body weight per day .

Also, The FDA disagrees with IARC’s (what you refer to as WHO) conclusion that these studies support classifying aspartame as a possible carcinogen to humans. FDA scientists reviewed the scientific information included in IARC’s review in 2021 when it was first made available and identified significant shortcomings in the studies on which IARC relied. FDA also pointed out that JECF (also WHO) did not raise safety concerns for aspartame under the current levels of use and did not change the Acceptable Daily Intake (ADI).

So yeah… Just believing journalists trying to click bait you is probably more likely to give you cancer than following the recommendation from WHO regarding daily intake of aspartame.

  • I’ve been jumping around trying 4-5 clients since the Reddit Exodus and all of them had some really anything bug. Voyager is the one that in my opinion is the best one feature and stability wise. However, voyager if giving me one big headache in the form of going totally black if I swap over to fx read an email. I don’t care if you’re my Firefox needing things up. I’m not going to opt in even more in Google Surveillance just because Voyager is open source.

Sync for Reddit was my whole Reddit experience for the last 7-8 years. I think I tried a majority of the clients and Sync totally wiped the floor with the other clients in my opinion. Both in new features and stability.

I use Windows and several dists on a daily basis. I have an Android phone and I truly like the philosophy behind open source… With that said… Competition is great. We’ll see what Sync for Lemmy can bring to the table. If it is as good as sync for Reddit was the other clients have to shape up and it’s us, the users, that will benefit.

This message was created with Sync for Lemmy.

  • “There’s no chance NATO’ll grant Ukraine membership. It is right next to Russia, and NATO is scared to upset Putin.”

While I agree that the chances for Ukraina bring admitted is next to slim I definitively don’t agree with your opinion on why it will not happen.

You do understand that Ukraine is literally the only democracy in Europe that shares borders with Russia and is not a member of NATO?
