Yes it’s a highway, probably that’s the case.
They did nothing to support totk before the release date as even stated in this article from pcgamers
The emulation teams have forbidden all discussion of running Tears of the Kingdom from their Discord servers—Yuzu only allows vague discussion of the contents of the game, but requests for help or discussion of performance quickly earns chatters a deleted message and a warning or ban. To avoid being involved with pirated material, the emulator developers have vowed, at least publicly, not to release updates targeting issues with Tears of the Kingdom. “We are waiting for the game to release, so that members of our team can each legally dump their own copies of the game,”
The game only happened to run without any work by them (and it’s understandable after 6 years of development and the various documentation already available for the switch’s tegra chip) and this is happening every time a new game for the switch is released.
Added beta-quality support for GeForce and Workstation GPUs to open kernelmodules. Please see the “Open Linux Kernel Modules” chapter in the README for details.
This is stated in the README at https://us.download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86_64/545.23.06/README/kernel_open.html:
Use of the open kernel modules on GeForce and Workstation GPUs should be considered Beta quality in this release and no longer requires setting of the “NVreg_OpenRmEnableUnsupportedGpus” nvidia.ko kernel module parameter. The open kernel modules are suitable for broad usage, and NVIDIA requests feedback on any issues encountered that are specific to them.
Seems pretty interesting, but I’m not pretty sure if when they state geforce they mean for example 1000 series of gpus.
And how do you smooth that part of the print? By melting the plastic with a soldering iron?
Ok thank you for the response!
🫶 Thank you for the answer
Ok thank you my guy ❤️
At least they have donated $10 million to the fund.
You and the other reposter won
That’s not true for crdroid https://crdroid.net/
What base is crDroid using?
crDroid uses LineageOS as base. We try to keep in sync with LineageOS source while also adding lots of customizations for you to choose from.
Are they based on Lineageos?
It will come back when you factory reset the device but at least if the update doesn’t contain the installer for some app they will not come back!
Yes Linux support is not worth the trouble until you see the Epic Games launche is a CEF, that is literally a web app running in a browser and hear me out CEF is designed to be cross-platform.
The only thing they should do is ship the app for linux and maybe add a proton menu in the settings and that’s it! Valve as done most of the work for them.
EndeavourOS is not the best for a new user, it’s an easier arch for sure but still a more advanced user operative system.
Things, update pretty frequently, break like it happened months ago with grub, or with the intel driver for laptops, and you need to fix them urself.
But as anything on this world there are downsides and advantages, get one you feel comfortable using and stick with it.
Remember you don’t need to install it to try it or to see if linux is working fine with your hardware, you can just start it from usb.
There are alternative client for discord but you can get banned for using them soo ¯_ (ツ)_/¯
League of Legends does work under linux without any anticheat issue, there is even a script done for lutris and an aur package to setup the game, on lemmy there is leagueoflinux where to ask for help.
To see if the games with anticheat that you want to play are supported on linux, check areweanticheatyet.com they have a pretty huge list of anticheat status where are listed supported, unsupported and denied games.
Despite my hate for Microsoft, it is important (sometimes) to acknowledge and appreciate the good they do, such as offering backwards compatibility for games for free. Because you don’t have to repurchase a game if you already have the original media, you insert it in the new console and it does download the game, yes maybe an online only solution but far better than what Nintendo and Sony do.
