I have never seen Discovery and SNW is very enjoyable. I am sure I am missing context, but I don’t think it is significant enough to make Discovery mandatory.

If you are every in Pittsburgh, Wholey’s is located there and has a fish market downtown which really great. The food there is solid and unpretentious. Highly recommend.
Agreed, music and art direction are very good.
Highly recommend Cassette Beasts. It’s a monster battler but you can freely swap and collect moves and the level of your monsters are based on your character level and not the level you obtained it. Plus all the moves have affixes like in Diablo that significantly change their use or potency.
The sum of all that means you are always trying out new monsters and move sets, some of which are entirely broken. Great game.
Parenting (and childhood) is intense and unrelenting. You can’t expect parents to be on stage continuously and continue to be patient and kind. You also can’t expect a 7 year old to be happy listening to their parents talk about work for 45 minutes. Taking breaks or responsibly drinking a beer is perfectly fine and isn’t going to negatively impact the child any more than allowing them to watch some age appropriate media for the time before they eat.
