By the way, take a look at the indie game The Precinct.

11·1 month agoI’d rather replay my older titles offline than be bound to a subscription. Streaming services here in my country remove so much stuff while you’re still watching them. And the content that’s still up there is of a very low quality.
I mean, older GTA titles already got removed; we now have to resort to other ways to replay those. They are still superior to the re-releases, in my honest opinion.

3·3 months agoYep I agree, if it where to work on Linux I might consider it hopefully fully playable OFFLINE. If I where to buy the game it will probably be the cheapest version tho. 100 euros for a game is quite a lot.
On the other hand, there is also a option I skip the game entirely. FH6 worked flawless on Linux for about 20 hours. After that the save game somehow became corrupt and I can’t play anymore. Talking about wasted money. I am even more skeptical of these online games now. 🫣

Self Hosted - Self-hosting your services.@lemmy.ml•navidrome <--> subsonic?
2·3 months agoCurrently im using Namida which is also great and open-source in contrary to Symfonium.
Namida supports Local music, Subsonic and Navidrome servers, WebDAV and even YT music if you even need a song that isn’t in your collection yet.

Another alternative (proprietary) is Symfonium

2·3 months agoYou won’tt be disappointed my friend. Also you might want to play the definitive edition of Sleeping Dogs.
SL has good story writing and recognizable sidequests. Don’t forget those, cause some are straight bangers. (Both cultural and cinema references).

42·3 months agoTough one actually,
I got a few, but these are my top picks:
-
OG GTA San Andreas (IMHO, the best map and story) has lots of stuff to do, including an online community long before GTA Online was a thing.
-
Sleeping Dogs (quite an underrated game even though it is getting more attention recently).
-
An old-school platformer one: Jazz Jackrabbit 2 (great OST, fun game to play)

And try out Distance, its a fast racer but you have to dodge occasional obstacles (great OST).
Oh and Real World Racing (still have it running on Linux)

That is correct, the setting van be found at: System Settings -> Search -> File Search -> Disable
After that you could alsof disable the service.
