  • Pretty bold of you to bring up Roe V Wade as an example of why we need more democrats. Roe V Wade was one of the best examples of democrats effortlessly orienting liberals with the democratic party by sitting on their hands for years as the threat of having abortion rights taken away become more and more clear. The democrats could have codified it, but they didn’t because they knew that abortion rights were one of their main avenues to muster up enthusiasm and support for their party. By letting Roe V Wade get eviscerated, the democrats secured support from oblivious liberals for years to come.

“Vote for us, or you’ll lose abortion rights! (as the democrats do jack shit to protect the right)”. The democrats would rather lose than shift left, and that revelation becomes terrifying when the issue comes down to genocide.

The same is true for Trump. The man that liberals get into such a tizzy about was literally propped up by the democrats in order to orient liberals and centrists with the democratic party. By propping up Trump, democrats have coerced liberals into writing a blank check and offering blind support to whoever isn’t the republican. And now we’ve seen the logical conclusion of this strategy: liberals supporting genocide since at least genocide isn’t as bad as orange man.

  • You say “make it fit reality”, but why do I feel like what you really mean is “make sure it does not at all challenge US hegemony”.

If your ecocidal political project whose institutions were devised a blink ago by 30 year old slavers starts going genocidal, your project has lost the right to exist. To put it plainly, I think we all have a duty to start thinking about what dismantling the genocidal US empire would look like: reading marx, getting armed, building networks, embracing anti-capitalism, and preparing for this country’s undeniably inevitable backslide into fascism.

  • The end game of the lib’s “harm reduction” is to continue taking shots to the left 30 years from now when the presidential candidates are a choice between the dem who wants to do 5 genocides and the repub who wants to do 10 genocides. At that point, the metamorphosis from liberal to fascist will be complete. To the liberal mind, political analysis stops with the earth-shattering revelation that 5 < 10.

They’ve been anchor biased hard as fuck, and they will continue to prop up genocide across the third world and beyond such that they never have to question their precious governmental systems and bureaucracy. The ecocidal, genocidal, imperialist political project that is the United States (which was devised a blink ago by 30-year old white slavers) is far more precious to liberals than, you know, halting genocide.

  • So what you’re saying is that under our system, fascists are entitled to run for president?

Trump broke every rule on the book - why can’t Joe? The democrat’s weird-ass obsession with precedent, civility, and the sanctity of American politics (that were devised by 30 year old white slave owners) has made them entirely toothless and ill equipped to deal with fascism. I’ll never understand the liberal position that fascists must, at all costs, be allowed to run in elections. Stomp that shit out.

It all comes down to the same basic premise: we aren’t going to consume our way out of the climate catastrophe. I don’t blame people for thinking this, though. If you’ve lived your whole life under an economy and social order who’s keystone and ultimate guiding force is consumption, it’s easy to see consumption as your only recourse. Something something, if all you have is a hammer, everything starts to look like nails. Our only option is to completely dismantle the systems that catalyzed the climate crisis: embracing anti-capitalism, crushing special interests, and ultimately empowering working class people.

  • It’s easy to understand the leftist claim that liberals always ultimately bend to fascism when you see comments like this that explain the US’s turn to fascism is because of leftists(?).

You comprise one of the two sides who blindly vote according to the principle of “he’s better than the other guy”. I suspect you’d be fine with more genocides in the decades to come only insofar as they’re committed by democrats. Meanwhile, actual leftists will continue to imagine better systems, build mutual aid networks, and arm vulnerable comrades. American electotalism isn’t going to stop the backslide into fascism or the ecocidal intent of the US ruling class.

  • Rather be edgy than let the sophist’s slick words draped in patriotism and liberalism distract me from a horrific monstrosity that has left over 30,000 people dead - mostly women and children.

I swear in 10 years, once the backside to fascism has seriously taken root, the libs in this comment section will still be hooting and hollering over these empty words in the State of The Union - all the while doing every mental gymnastic possible such that they don’t have to question capitalism. Enjoy the backside.
