I mean, all the phones I’ve ever had (including my current Samsung A52 from a couple years back) have a headphone jack, but I haven’t used anything wired in around 6 years.

I just find Bluetooth to be much more convenient and a nicer experience. I even bought a Bluetooth adapter for my desktop so I could use the same headphones there.

Not to mention, I just looked and there are plenty of phones with 3.5 mm jacks on the market, so it looks like the option is still out there for those that prioritize such a feature.

It can vary depending on the context, but essentially it just means that you can only read/write at a fairly basic level.

For instance, imagine someone who reads at a 4th grade reading level. They can get through basic aspects of life, but get totally lost/overwhelmed if they are presented with anything more complex. For instance, they wouldn’t be able to comprehend most official letters. (Thus is especially an issue in Germany since Amtsdeutsch seemingly tries to be intentionally complex…)

They are effectively locked out of most modern jobs, because they can’t parse emails effectively or formulate a fitting reply.

It’s also something that people are generally very self-conscious about and get pretty good at hiding.

  • Yup, this is just a replay of early 20th century. Inequality exploded and eventually you had revolutions virtually everywhere (in europe and the west, ar least).

    Some were extreme-left (communism)

    Some were extreme-right (facism)

Some were far-left for the time (social-democratic, or “new deal” as it’s known in the US)

Some were violent, some were relatively peaceful.

But they were basically all inevitable, the people were frustrated and willing to support whatever platform promised something ‘different’.

We’re at that point currently, but only the far-right is offering anything different, so even though it’s a terrible option, people will gravitate towards it. The solution is to offer genuine vision of change from the left.
