But do consider setting up an account on alternative platforms and posting more on there, then people will gradually move.
If no-one else in your group starts, then it could be you making the shift for all of them
Yeah, it’s all about regular contributions… I was down (up?) to #120’s a while back, but I’ve not been travelling recently, so it’s slipping away.
But yeah, 341 active days… probably over a ~3 years?
What I tend to do now is, if I visit a nice cafe / restaurant / shop, I’ll check if it’s there and edit the opening times, etc… or even add the business if it didn’t exist.
They’re good to me, I’m good to them
StreetComplete Rank #136 in my country #1589 Globally
Across 7 countries (yep, even on holiday)
I’ve also added our home & some neighbours onto the map, which is great as our address is a little awkward and gradually our deliveries have improved as the map data reaches the driver’s satnavs
Yeah, when you put it like that… yeah it’s madness.
That’s what I appear to be learning from this post’s comments 🙂
As a colleague used to say: Every day’s a school day.
Thanks
Hmmm… my office is 50~60%:
At 55% relative humidity, the swamp cooler will be able to drop the temperature from 90°F to 81°F. That’s a -9°F drop.
So, it’ll be able to drop 32°C to 27°C…
Looks like I might have to look for a different solution… or have a higher electricity bill by running a dehumidifier too.
Hmmm. Hadn’t thought of that. Interesting point… I’ve even got an unused IR blaster… somewhere.
The roof above my head is probably close to 40DegC, but I put 150mm insulation in, so it’s not toooo bad at the mo
That’s where the external heat’s coming from.
The internal heat is me, a laptop under heavy load (corp security = noticable% CPU), some monitors and the NAS (which is now on automated power on / off cycles to reduce heat)
But yeah, we have no AC. We only have a few weeks in the year like this - at scattered random times - so it’s not worth installing. Next week we might be back down to 15DegC
And if I put a unit in my window then I’ll basically be living in a dungeon.
Good points.
That’s what I’m doing for the winter: dumb dehumidifier on smart socket. HA measures the humidity and turns it on / off.
I was hoping for something that could cool and report back what it was doing to HA, but I think I’ll have to go with the same approach as the dehumidifier.
US Judge… so a US ruling… so… will it affect non-US consumers?
I think the MS comments have a lot of spin, they have had the capability to keep data in EU or country based silos for years (Source)
But the Nextcloud comment was interesting
44% of how many people? I don’t see that in the results.
I agree they have some interest, I learn that these devices even exist, whether I’m going to buy or not.
I’m also not going to look for 1 or 2 interesting posts in amongst many more ads.
Maybe if the seller just posts with their ebay / wherever link and we keep the selling elsewhere, then any discussions of whether they’ll post to exotic locations aren’t diluting here?
Not sure if businesses will be more obvious that way…?
I agree, this pretty much covers all the points.
I do full disk backups of HA, Zigbee2Mqtt, etc every now & again as well as backups before updates.
And I don’t so updates when I’m in a rush - that angers the bug gods who strike my systems down with system faults.
Do it on a Saturday morning and it all goes smoooooothly
I don’t use HA so this is confusing me.
You should check it out whilst you’re here 🙂
There are no ads.
Not really an answer, more of a related question to others:
Zoneminder… how does that compare?
It seems to have been around for years (I was made aware of it as an addon for MythTV), is still maintained and ticks the usual FOSS boxes… and has an HA integration.
But I’ve not heard many people using it…?
Hopefully with larger manufacturers turning to Linux, then the smaller components will have to work closer with Linux and develop better drivers.
There’s still a lot of reverse engineering required for laptop drivers.
I agree, my point is, we don’t need another app for this.
The StreetComplete functionality could be put on the OSM website… maybe even make it the default editor and make the current OSM editor the “advanced” one…
Edit: but don’t get me wrong - anything that can improve adoption of OSM is a great thing, totally agree on that point
Not used them myself, but I’d bookmarked these for my next home… maybe what you’re looking for? Somfy Sunea
And there’s an integration in home assistant Overkiz
But whether that integration works with that solar motor is unclear.
