Lot of good answers here. As I always keep bringing up contradictions are resolved by practice. The USA is built on a whole host of contradictions international, national, economic and societal, and we can’t predict how they will be resolved. Even if the very unlikely event everyone somehow peacefully threaded the needle to resolve all these contradictions in a way that a USA still exists it would not be the same USA through the process it’s been through.

He’s term limited out of being governor of Kentucky and is unlikely to be able to win a senate seat there. His Lt Governor, she might have had a boost in her chances (given Beshear won by a slim margin).

A dem governor in Kentucky as we saw with Beshear can mitigate some of the worst transphobia there. No. They’ve said it’s narrowed to a governor. Whitmer has said she would decline (I think Pritzker too). So the options seem Josh Shapirio a big zionist, Andy Beshear a pretty generic moderate but decent record on trans rights, and Tim Walz a progressive (within dem standards). So she’ll probably pick the worst option.
