Depends on the area I guess. I see more duvets than one-piece comforters here in the PNW.

4·9 days agoYeah, I’m here because reddit didn’t value my use and made my favorite client no longer work. That’s it. However, if it weren’t that, it would have been one of the myriad of problems reddit had since then. Obviously, I do appreciate the federated aspect of Lemmy, but it wasn’t a consideration when I moved here.
For almost every account I create, I use the username generator built into my password manager. All my accounts (other than this one, which I accidentally left the numbers off) are a single word followed by 4 numbers
There are also real moments from this video where he is clearly sleeping, just at a different angle. Faking a picture of him sleeping from a video where you can find pictures of him actually sleeping is a weird thing to do
very slightly, the weight difference is so miniscule I doubt it’d even look like it were wobbling, and due to other friction in the system may not even register at all.

4·25 days agoThere are free and open source messenger apps for those that care. The one I use is Fossify Messenger, and it’s fairly bare bones but I’m not really a texting power user, so it’s perfectly fine for my use case
The internet would be a better place if you weren’t here
Hard to imagine a shittier thing someone could do in a comic thread

Fuck AI@lemmy.world•anthropic spams open source projects with AI slob
2·1 month agoAlright, so you’ve changed your argument. Slang does not mean “an exaggeration.” I’m not trying to be the word police, it’s just hard to understand your argument if you aren’t using common definitions of words. You are arguing that the other person exaggerated, not that they are using slang. And to some degree, I agree with that.
I will also admit that my last response missed a key point. Open source projects have been struggling to keep up with garbage PRs that started once AI bots have had the ability to submit PRs themselves. Hell, it started before that, when people still had to submit their AI generated PRs. On the whole, PRs across projects have been more slop than before LLMs existed. In your dog example, it’d be as though a breeder specializing in breeding female dogs moved in and business was booming. Yes, not every dog coming into the vet is a bitch, but there are significantly more bitches coming in than before.
Ultimately, as they are right now, the net result of AI PRs is negative, so anyone choosing to release them is actively increasing the level of slop, even if a few of their changes aren’t themselves causing an issue. I’m not saying the people submitting them are malicious, just that they are contributing to an overall worse open source scene.

4·1 month agoIn what way is it not literal? I’ve had to work closely with AI in a software engineering capacity, and if you let the AI do anything unchecked for long it will spit out slop. Slop by Merriam-Webster definition, is “a product of little or no value” or “digital content of low quality that is produced usually in quantity by means of artificial intelligence” which sounds exactly like an unchecked claude bot randomly submitting PRs to open source projects would be producing.

4·1 month agoAre you referring to “slop” as slang? In what way is it slang?
I could see it being touched up by an LLM, but it doesn’t feel like it started as an LLM generation
I read the whole letter, I don’t really see any of the it’s not x, it’s y shape. I’ve unfortunately had to read a lot of AI generated content due to the nature of my work, and this letter really doesn’t sound like it to me. The em dashes are very present, but not really used in the places AI likes to use them.
I was as well. Put off buying it for years, as I am the patient gamer who waits for deals. I caved after playing Satisfactory and still having the itch to build factories
I think it’s cute, but I cannot agree with selective breeding for defects, so I would never own one
I think past thunderbolt 4 you get 2 displays daisy chained off of one port. I have a thunderbolt 5 port and I run 2 4k monitors off of it

I don’t use the internet for much these days, but I am on graphine OS and I have yet to be blocked from websites due to it. My adblocker prevents me from some, and not allowing javascript prevents me from some, but I’ve never seen that QR code or had any site prompt fro Google play services
