I imagine Republicans are doing this not only in the name of the Culture War, but to cultivate an under educated class of manipulable labor (possibly with indentured servitude as the end goal). They know that current and future students will have a harder time leaving for greener pastures due to not being competitive potential hires.

Most of the companies I’ve worked for have a diverse workforce. As Globalization continues, this will be true for more and more companies. Why would such a company hire someone who doesn’t know how to interact with non-white non-cis-male team members because they think their entire existence is taboo? It is a skills-gap issue at the end of the day.

Anyway, that’s my civil take on the matter…

As someone in my 30s, I expect to be part of the beginning of a series of steward generations who will desperately try to manage this Great Decline. My only hope is that it can be slowed down enough that I don’t die in some thunderdome contest for scraps.

We have a moral obligation to encourage these people to self rapture.

The key is focus your time and effort on the ones that are really important to you, and be able to adapt to changes. This way you can make the switch to a less abusive product / platform / tool / whatever it is more easily when it inevitably goes to shit.

This is the user-side responsibility of interoperability.

I agree, but I am saying these support programs could target the deserving citizens, not provide blanket support, which of course would further enable the bad behavior.

Another option could be programs from patron states to support those people where they are, which could mitigate the slide into further barbary. Though, there are ethical concerns over having the most desperate and vulnerable people acting as our vanguard against Republican hordes.

Relocation programs could help those people, albeit at the cost of decivilizing these places.
