When there’s no filling station, you can always use a sink. SEA-TAC has an abundance of filling stations, though.

Maybe it’s a genetic thing, but I can’t stand the taste of pre-minced/chunked garlic. To my taste buds, it is NOT ‘flavor town’, and it isn’t even garlic – it is some plastic-y abomination that should never be allowed to contaminate real food (and yes, I understand it is real, but something goes wrong in the process that makes it taste awful).

I’m happy to spend 1/2 hour with a knife turning whole bulbs of garlic into peeled cloves, then into minced deliciousness. I don’t know a better way to get the flavor I want. Meanwhile, garlic powder tastes like it is related to garlic with its own flavor that I’m fine eating as a supplement.

Checked the TV for coverage and CNN is making the point that the “cardiac arrest” could mean almost anything. They aren’t quite saying that it means his heart stopped before they got the call, but that’s my reading – like, even if he’d choked to death, the problem at that point had become the stopped heart.

He doubled down for his delayed speech on the 4th, saying crap like, “America will never be a communist country. Won’t happen. I understand your hatred for the F250s being aggressive, but the two of you blocking the freeway are making life miserable for the dozen of us behind them who would like to get to our destinations uneventfully. Please stop playing games with traffic.

• people ate passenger pigeons, so people shot every last one and they went extinct
• people ate goose and used their down, so people were working on killing every last one
• before every last goose was cooked, laws were made to stop people from keeping ‘farm’ geese as decoys and only allowing shooting with limits during fall migration (when the offspring were mature – no egg harvesting, either).
• people in the U.S. did not see any geese from fall until spring
• those farm geese? they didn’t migrate but were no longer allowed on farms
• there are several versions of what happened next, but somehow someone decided we should have non-migratory/farm/resident geese in various places … with no predators and without changing the old laws
