I don’t have the deck buit anymore but [[Yeva, Nature’s Herald]] was always a good intro deck. You can just focus on ramping and throwing out big creatures or flashing them in at the opportune moment. Let’s you explain the difference between instants and sorceries and opens up conversation about how the stack works. Also teaches them about enter the battlefield abilities and triggers.

It’s like a weird form of green control that let’s you explain how other colors work and most new people tend to be drawn to green from my experience.

Winston Draft! Me and my brother did Winston drafts for years. We also built a Winston cube where we each “controlled” 50% of the card pool and changed stuff for drafting. Essentially like a cube for 2 people, it was a blast. Then we went to college and moved away, maybe we should get another Winston cube going it’s been a bit.

Birthing Pod, oof that one hits hard. It was my first modern deck.

My favorite deck to play in was UB Fae and it has pretty much been pushed out of the format at this point. I hope it makes a comeback at some point because Bitterblossom used to be a threat and now it’s just fallen to the way side.

I hate when people durdle…I recently built a [[Kami of the Crescent Moon]] deck to force people to draw all their cards so we all have options and answers. I love sitting across from 3 people and we all have a grip of 20 cards, let’s make this game pop off!

I have always wanted to build a Jodah deck but with a Wheel of Time theme and Jodah as Rand Al’thor. I’m a huge wheel of time fan and that’s the one deck I would probably “bling” out with alters and foils.

[[Trostani, Selesnya’s Voice]] and [[Queen Marchesa]] Long may she reign! These were two of the first decks I built by myself and countless decks have been built and taken apart since them and they’re still here and still get played.

  • I think it’s fine, powers up the ring bearer but the lack of downside is a little annoying.

I also read the mechanic incorrectly when it came out and thought that you HAD to move it to a different creature whenever you were tempted. Thought that was a good flavor for it cause it showcases how other creatures would covet the ring and try to take it. But I was wrong you can just choose the same creature every time.

If you had to move it every time my suggestion for downside was pay mana or life to keep it on the ring bearer. Or for no penalty pick a different ring bearer. Still a neat mechanic though.
