Most of my machines, including my daily driver, run Linux. I’ve got one old windows laptop that I use (via NoMachine) to run Fusion360 on. And we have a 5+ year old Surface Pro that my wife uses for Dice Maker (a windows only program).

Neither of my old Windows boxes will run 11, so they won’t run 12 either. And I’m oh so broken up about it.

There are relatively few steps that would go a long way toward stopping the accumulation of obscene amounts of wealth.

• Make tax rates similar to what we had in the 50s (conservatives love the 50s), with the brackets adjusted for inflation.
• Make all types of income tax at those rates.
• Eliminate taxable income caps including social security withholding.
• Make inheritance and gift taxes equivalent.
• End Citizens United through congressional action.
• Use that tax money on social programs, small business development programs, and infrastructure.

If you want to really jump start things we should also make all campaigns publicly funded.

I love the late TNG / Dominion War era, but less for the designs themselves and more for how many different ship types we see from all over the Alpha and Delta quadrants.

If there are they are never enforced in the US. Court case after court case has sided with the scraper rather than the site. Though usually Facebook is the scrapee in these cases, not the scraper.

I used to work in real estate tech so I know a lot of efforts the US’s National Association of Realtors has made to stop scrapers of RE data. Some where via the legal system, some tried to push the onus on us as paying consumers of their data. Not a single thing worked - if anything they may have invoked the Streisand effect once or twice and gotten more of their data scraped.

I’m trying to keep the actual “rooms” from becoming too formulaic, it’s the episodic part that’s got me a little worried. I want my players to control the story but they’re being sent on away missions so I’m worried they feel like they’re just checking boxes:

• get to know the locals
• find the reason they’re there
• gather info
• find/kill the X but, oh no/yay, here comes Y
• repercussions for finding/killing (or not) the X
• possibly stay and party with the ewoks for a while
• head home

Of course, the missions they go on are not happening in a vacuum and affect other missions and the overall story and they choose the missions.

I mostly lost interest in fireworks a long time ago, but if you want to do fireworks American style just think “November 5th + 20% pointless danger.” E.g. As a kid we used to wrap “whistling pete” fireworks in electrical tape then smash them with a hammer before we set them off. They usually just explode, but sometimes they shoot off in a random direction first.

What I do these days if assume most stuff is closed so I stay home during the day, Then in the evening I might go to one of the parks doing “official” fireworks to people watch.

I’m running a campaign right now that’s very episodic and I’m starting to feel like I’m just running five room dungeons over and over. This will help me spice things up.
