Welcome to Advent’s Amazing Advice! I take popular One-Shots and Campaigns and fully prep them for New and Busy DMs. This prep includes ambiance, encounter sheets, handouts, battle maps, tweaks, and more so you can run the best sessions possible!
Hey, thank you for the detailed comment! I can definitively say this isn’t a phishing email attempt. I’m just trying to find someone who can match my style of writing to work with. (Also as someone in IT wouldn’t someone want to maximize the emails they get in a phishing attempt, I’ll be lucky if 10 people enter haha)
Everyone’s working on the same thing, it would be another story if I had everyone working on multiple different One-Shots, but since it’s the same, it’s of no use to me to have multiples. Only the first-place winner will be shown and they get $100 which is how much I charge for commissions and how much they would make for the prep to start. 2nd and third place also get a prize, so overall this is costing me more than if I just had one person to start. I can understand your concern about simply using something I wrote so I wouldn’t have to pick someone, but again that wouldn’t help me since I actually am looking for someone. If you have advice on how to make that less of a concern definitely let me know! It’s one of those things where sure I can say it, but that won’t change whether you believe me or not.
If you take a look at my prep you can see that I simply link to YouTube, I’ve never heard of that being an issue.
I’ll be doing a final review of all the work before it actually gets posted, so I don’t foresee a negative customer interaction so much, but if something did pop up then I simply wouldn’t use them for future prep! The last line is just in case people submit Jiberish hoping that only 1-3 people enter.
I’ve updated the post to include more info about the position, I had updated other posts, but didn’t add it here, so that’s my bad!
If you have any suggestions on how I can make a post like this better I’d love to hear; I’m sure I’ll eventually be looking for additional people in the future!
Cheers, Advent
Definitely not trying to be malicious in any way and that’s why I added prizes. Only the first-place person would be featured and I would have no use for any of the other prep.
The job itself is basically doing the exact thing that’s being done for the contest! Prepping popular One-Shots and Adventures.
I’m offering the same amount that I charge for commissions, so $100 for each One-Shot Prepped; with up to a bonus $100 for each based on how closely the person can match my style. If the person is good enough, then they’ll eventually receive a percentage of all profits from Advent’s Amazing Advice! Payment is via Venmo, but other ways can be worked out if needed!
For Content Production, I’m only looking for 1-2 prepped One-Shots a month! I’ll be guiding the person to match my style and be there to help with anything that pops up along the way. I’ll still be prepping other One-Shots and Campaigns as well and expanding new ways to help people!
Hope that helps answer your questions, if you have any more just let me know, I’m only a message away!
Cheers, Advent
You’re very welcome, I hope you have a blast and if you find anything that can be improved with my notes please let me know!
If you look up The homebrewery you should find out how to create in that style!
Cheers!
Thank you! I’m glad you like it!!!
Thank you, hope my notes and prep help!
Haha nice, that alone might help get your players into D&D!
You’re welcome, I’m super happy to hear that too, It’s the whole reason I make these, I really want DMing to be as accessible as possible!
Just be careful those who aren’t interested don’t ruin it for those who are! Keep us posted on how your game goes, I’m super curious!!!
Hands down one of the best! I’ve run it over 3 times to introduce people or test em out before a campaign!
Oh wow so 7 players total, that’s quite a bit, especially for a first-time DM, I usually don’t recommend more than 5. I pick 5 because if one player bails then you have 4 which to me is the perfect number! Having a ton of players can really draw out fights and for social encounters can leave people out of the limelight.
DMing can certainly be a lot of work but it’s real rewarding and hey guess what If your players love it you can always use any of these resources for future sessions!
100% agree that balancing encounters can be difficult! One tip is that you can take a look at other One-Shots/Adventures that are already balanced and around the level you’re looking for and use those!
My Intent is to get as many new DMs as possible and make things a whole lot scary for them when they start!
There definitely are other systems, but this is a dnd community and Baldurs Gate 3 is based off of D&D as well, so most people would be looking for something similar!
Granted I do agree that there are a ton of awesome other systems out there, but I find D&D to be the gateway drug that leads to many other places!
There are different people in each community, wouldn’t I want to reach the largest audience possible? I may be confused, but isn’t this similar to Reddit in the sense that each of them are subreddits and different from each other?
You’re welcome, always glad to help! This was actually the first ever One-Shot I ran and it’s my go-to for new players!
I would say 3-4 people, but there’s only 1 fight so you can take a look at that and adjust it to make it good with just about any amount of people!
Do it, it’s so rewarding! I know it can overwhelming at first, but with my notes, it’ll be a breeze!!! The most important thing is just be flexible, your players will often times throw a curve ball. If you get stuck just look up a rule, if it takes to long make a ruling and move on!
Thank you! It should take about 3hrs, but since this One-Shot leans more on the roleplay aspect it can change depending on your players. I’m pretty sure you can get this done in a weekend unless you’re running 1hr sessions!
If you end up using my notes, let me know how it goes and if I should change anything
Cheers, Advent
Thank you for the kind words, always happy to help!!!
No worries and thank you so much, I’m glad that I can help! I look forward to seeing you around, have a wonderful week!!!
Thank you so much for the kind words, I’m glad that my prep for The Night Before Wintermas helped! These two are some of my favorite sessions! I hope you have a blast with this along with the rest!
