This is why we need strong unions. Government work protections will always be rolled back because the government serves the powerful. They only capitulate to the rest of us when they feel threatened. Unions are our biggest strength.

I hope you are right, but I don’t know MAGA won’t latch onto a new cult of personality just as easily. The right wing info bubble is a well oiled consent machine and they know how to push the right cultural buttons. Vance is better spoken and has gained a lot of MAGA love under Trump. I worry if Trump dies before he erodes his support too far, it will solidify MAGA under a better equipped leader.

JD is Peter Thiel’s errand boy and Thiel wants to collapse of nation states and social programs. His goal is corporate network states with the rich living completely removed from regulations on their power in any way. JD Vance may not be as erratic but he is just as dangerous.

I am so sick of this fascism wrapped in the language of child protectionism. This is only about going after dissenting voices who use the shield of anonymity to speak freely. The persecution of people defending Gaza vocally is proof of that.

I get what you’re saying, but these are also real people with regular daily lives. I know I’ve had intolerable jobs that just drain the life out of me that I needed to leave for my sanity. Asking them to put up with this madness for four years or more depending on who gets elected next (or if elections still happen) is a pretty tall ask.
