- I’m not…I’m not following this one - I watched all of that and I still don’t get it - That had a blink and you miss it scene of the wave motion gun. - The Yamoto ran it’s engine energy directly to the gun. Here is a longer scene from the original TV show:

- In the episode “Best of Both Worlds” it’s suggested to route power directly from the core to the deflector dish and use it as a weapon against the Borg. The gag is that instead of using the internal systems to channel power, they just strap the core’s output to the dish. - Edit: also, apparently an anime reference as pointed out by @Shipgirlboy@sh.itjust.works - I know the episode by heart, but I don’t understand what is strapped to the deflector, or what it has to do with the Yamato. - They photoshopped the bow of the Yamato on top of the deflector dish,

- This is similar to the so called ‘Holdo maneuver’ from Star Wars: The Last Jedi … where they take a rebel ship on a suicide mission of deliberating flying it into a large Imperial ship. - If spaceships can become very powerful sources of energy and exotic engines that can deliver and sustain massive amounts of energy … eventually someone is going to want to turn it into a weapon. - If you can use the energy of a fancy star ship to propel a craft through space at very high speed, they can use the same technology to use it as a delivery system for a weapon … or just use the energy created as a weapon itself … or in the case of the Star Wars thing I mentioned above … just use the entire ship as a weapon … as Worf would have put it ‘IT IS A GOOD DAY TO DIE!!!’ - Also known as the Kzinti Lesson. But ship-sized missiles are - wastefulboring, more overpowered beam weapons please

- If you haven’t seen Space Battleship Yamoto it fucking slaps!!
- Shoop da whoop!
