The authorization does not mean a strike will happen immediately and both sides could reach a deal. If a strike does happen, it would be the first at Disneyland in 40 years.

The bargaining committee said it is committed to negotiations on Monday and Tuesday, but said the strike authorization allows it to call a strike at any time.

Can’t wait for the takes from Disney adults and Disney influencers. I’m sure they will be level-headed and not full-blown ragebait in the slightest…

So what will happen here is Disney will fire all of them, the NLRB will sue, and the Supreme Court will decide the NLRB can’t do that, thus ending the last vestiges of labor rights in the US

You are being unnecessarily pessimistic. Which is not helpful and also a massive buzzkill. Honestly what you said sounds identical to what a reactionary would say.

You have to consider that it would take an incredible amount of time and money to train 14000 replacement employees, making it unlikely to happen. Even if Disney manages to hire scab workers, the quality of the park will fall and Disney will lose business.

You’re right, I can’t imagine Disney doing something like lowering their quality in order to make more money, they are artists and they would never compromise their art for short term profits!

If I wanted to hear people say that organized labor action is ineffective and doomed to fail, then I would go talk to chuds because that is what chuds say.

It’s not doomed to fail, this is really cool and good! Being aware of difficulties this action will face and the character of their enemy is necessary. If you’re doing real labor actions you have to pay attention to reality, eyes wide open and clear headed

There aren’t 14,000 people in Disney’s immediate area that they could scab these people with. Additionally, the bad press about “the happiest place on earth” would not be becoming for Disney.

They’re just going to put all the kids on the It’s a Small World ride to work.

I thought championing genocide wouldn’t be becoming for democrats and people would turn on biden but it turns out I was wrong, Perhaps I am just being pessimistic but thats for good reason
