I’ve had the screensaver on my deck for a bit (a/b testing?) and it surprised me. Especially when one of the few screenshots saved to steam is saint’s row 3 in the room where you “interrogate” some people in bondage and I’m holding the 3 foot dildo-bat
Damn their updates are always so solid, love it
There was just a Steam Controller update too. There is so much more rumble now.
Got a dock firmware update too. No idea what it does though.
Loss of input fix??? O:
Does that mean I don’t have to restart the frame’s desktop environment every time I drag a window and it permanently attaches to my cursor and prevents almost every input?
That would be wicked, was my biggest frame issue
Edit: I was wrong.
Just noticed they added an ad screen saver. Have not had a chance to look at how to disable it.Screensaver - Big Picture Mode
Added a new screensaver feature, accessible in Settings > Customization. There are two screensavers available:
- The default is a game art slideshow that can be configured to show artwork from recently played games and your recent in-game screenshots.
- A retro inspired bouncing logo screensaver
- Big Picture mode can also load custom screensavers. Similar to startup movies, they can be placed in the config\uioverrides\screensavers directory in your Steam install directory (e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam or ~/.steam/root). You can use the bouncing logo screensaver (in the steamui\screensavers directory) as an example to get started.

Also, it’s not really ads when it shows you your own artwork/screenshots.
So far I have only seen games I have never seen/heard of on it.
A sign your backlog/screenshot library is too big?
Sadly you are 100% correct. lol oops.
Welcome to the party pal. My backlog is in the 700s. 🫠
I used to buy humble bundles all the time years ago, i am much better about buying games and never playing them these days.
What surprised me the most was the screenshots. I only have screenshots of like 3 maybe 4 games on my deck, but it was showing shots from a really old computer. I guess they were saved in steam and I never realized it.
Maybe they changed it? I got a screenshot of a crash I made years ago and never deleted the screenshot after reporting. Gave me quite a shock to see an error message of a crash out of the blue.
Naw, I was wrong.
Had the screenshot slideshow version happen to me today and it surprised me, but it makes me look forward to the animation loader decky plugin update for it (fingers crossed) 😄
