Super interesting seeing USA was early on the full-suffrage train. Super fucked up to learn indigenous women couldn’t vote in Canada until the 1960’s.

A neat timeline, admittedly missing a huge asterisk about how a lack of enforcement and restrictive voting policies still indirectly filter who can vote.

    Great thread! Need to be careful not to get into modern politics, but this is historical.

    We owe them a great debt. It’s not just having the vote (although obviously that’s important) it’s having female politicians so they can maneuver things for us and make things happen. I don’t think marital rape would have been made illegal if it wasn’t for that
