Behind the scenes video from an event being put on in Seattle. I very much vibe with what he talks about here:

It’s really cool because when the acts are done, people justkind of like come out of their seats and everyone’s talking. New friends, old friends, everyone masked. And from what I gather, and I feel like myself too, Everyone masked. And from what I gather, and I feel like myself too, it is your nervous system being allowed to come down, knowing that you are in a place where everyone here is investing in each other. What an absolute concept, but a concept that I think you and I and everyone we know in this sphere is trying to normalize.

Recently I’ve been to a couple of meetings of a covid safer masks required group in a nearby city. And, after being the lone masker in my neighborhood for so long, being surrounded by other folks in masks is like taking your foot off the accelerator that’s been pedal to the medal, running in the red for what feels like forever. Even if it was only for a couple of hours, coming out of that red line made me feel the safest I’ve been in years.

Hey friends, I just got done setting up FAR UVC upstairs for the COVID Safer series at On the Boards in Lower Queen Anne, Seattle, and I came downstairs and wouldn’t you know it, the little theater where I do the Cleaner Event shows is completely open. And so I thought I would come in here and kind of sit in an empty room, which I never usually get to do because I’m just busting ass the moment I get in here to set everything up, and talk to you about the last show of 2025 coming up in Seattle. That’s going to be on Sunday, November 23rd from 2 to 5 featuring Vixie and Tony, old friends from the Comic-Con Geek Sphere Days, Menage a Trio, an instrumental bass violin cello group that I came across last year at a COVID Safer show that I was doing FAR UVC for, and KPH and the Canary Collective, Kaylee, a wonderful singer-songwriter from Bellingham, Washington.

And what we’re doing is we’re tuning this room and turning this room into the, what I feel, we, my team, and the COVID Safer conglomerate and grouping community in Seattle, Washington, to the safest room in the world when we do this show for airborne virus mitigation and keeping everyone’s safe and gathering safer. As you can see behind me, this sits about 80-some people in here. And what we do is we sit here, well people will sit here like this next to each other, surrounded with air purifiers that are in between these rows right here. I’ve done videos on this before, but I haven’t done this with an empty theater. And so we scatter brisk boxes from cleaner kits through these rows right here. And then right here, let me turn around, is where the group will be playing, right there. So people are about, I’d say, I don’t know, 15 feet away from the people performing.

And with that, let me go over the people performing, right here, right here. Trying to give you a sense of the space here, if you’ve been saying, hey, I want to come out, but I don’t really know, what is this like? What’s it look like when no one’s in there? It’s basically like a big black box that we turn into what I feel like is the safest room in the world for airborne viral control and mitigation. And so what we’ll do is we will have people come in here with mandatory KN95 plus masking. Everyone’s been amazing about that since we did that. This will be our fourth show, by the way, on November 23rd from 2 to 5. We will put far UVC as well throughout the room. So we will have far UVC right back here on either side of me. If I’m singing here, which I won’t be, maybe we’ll do it again next year. I don’t know. We’ll see. I kicked off the first one. Now I just get to watch. I’m the restaurant host. I’m the manager at the Jiffy Lube. I’m just watching. I’m watching. And I’m listening. And I’m having fun too.

But we’ll put far UVC in corners:

Corner there.

Corner there.

Corner there.

As well as this area on either side of the speakers. So you see speakers in stereo. You have far UVC in stereo. It’s a Dolby Atmos of the 222 nanometer band. It’s Lord of the Rings Dolby Atmos, but for the clean air set. I don’t know. The metaphors are escaping me right now, but I think you know what I’m saying. Families are welcome. Kids are welcome. There are so many nice people who have come to this show repeatedly. We have four timers now, we’ll call them. The next time, hopefully call them five timers, who’ve been to every single show that we’ve done so far. And it’s just a big experiment. It’s a big experiment to see what can we do in providing premium entertainment experiences and gathering safer together. A piece of 2019 in terms of what we can expect from an entertainment experience where we’re taken care of, yet not forgetting everything that we’ve learned since 2019: adapting, masking, far UVC, airflow.

We’re also bringing in airflow from the outer lobby right in here using what we call a clean air relay. So we have the doors open. It doesn’t matter what time of year it is. Bring your coat. We’re going to have airflow coming no matter what. A big fan sucking in airflow from that door right there through here. And then another fan that catches it and shoots it right out there. So air is constantly moving. And last I looked, we were able to keep it at 1050 at the max, but it had been down to 900 and 800. That wasn’t the case until we started using the clean air relay. And so I’m glad that we figured that out.

Let me see here. Three acts, two to five, November 23rd, 40 minutes each, 20 minutes in between acts.

What can we expect for consistency through community care, through living praxis, while also rocking out? And none of those things can be exclusive. They are in tandem with each other. And that’s what we’re trying to create here at Clean Air Events.
