Is the United States about to start testing nuclear weapons again? Recent comments by United States President Trump suggested that he is strongly considering testing nuclear warheads in response to real and perceived tests by other nuclear powers.

These comments left many confused about the future of US policy and the state of intelligence on adversary nuclear programs.

So what’s going on? As is often the case, President Trump seems to prize unpredictability.

We don’t know what’s going to happen, but it wouldn’t hurt to review where we’ve been.

fuck me sideways i’m no one then i guess?

Is the United States about to start testing nuclear weapons again?

    no

Recent comments by United States President Trump suggested that he is strongly considering testing nuclear warheads in response to real and perceived tests by other nuclear powers.

tl note: demented pedo in chief conflates nuclear delivery systems tests and nuclear warhead tests. this one in particular is about alleged tests of russian burevestnik nuclear powered subsonic nuclear armed cruise missile, seen by nobody, detected by nobody, other than announcements of russians only

it’s a massively complex and expensive contraption, sold as russian wunderwaffe to unsuspecting public. with every new development like this, you have to wonder: did nobody did that before because it’s really hard, or because it’s really, really stupid?

it’s definitely both, which also makes it entirely unnecessary. it’s sold as a something to deliver nukes while avoiding american antiballistic missiles, and technically it’s true, but pointless, because as subsonic missile it would be intercepted by regular air defense surface launched missile, which is much cheaper and widely distributed, as compared to antiballistic missile, which are horrifically expensive and won’t work anyway. want to put nuke on enemy territory? we have a tool for that, it’s called ICBM

but did nobody did that? also no. americans did that in 60s and discarded that idea, because ICBMs turned out to work better at lower price

but can trump do a nuclear test? also no, because while there are some designs from much later than nuclear tests moratorium, preparation would take something like three years.

as usual, in uncertain times you can count on nothing ever happens brigade

this news is also 2 weeks old at this point. perun has already covered it in an hour long video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M0t8UYZ9rrQ
